Summary
- A Godzilla glitch in Fortnite caused one player to be practically invincible.
- Becoming Godzilla involves walking through a portal, but spotting it can be challenging.
- The glitch allowed the player to continue playing and win the game even after they were supposed to have been defeated.
A bizarre glitch involving Fortnite's new Godzilla ability allowed one player to snag an easy Victory Royale. A video of the incident was captured and shared online, sparking a discussion about what is quite literally one of Fortnite's largest additions to date. However, Godzilla is just one part of Fortnite's latest update, which also expanded the game's ever-growing list of skins.
While gunplay remains king in Fortnite, this hasn't stopped Epic games from tinkering with fun and unique ways to give players power during matches, with the game's latest update allowing one very lucky player to become Godzilla himself. Harnessing the power of the legendary kaiju is quite simple, as all players will need to do to become Godzilla is to walk through a special portal. However, finding the Godzilla portal can be tricky for some Fortnite players, as there's not a guaranteed spot where it will spawn. Once players have become Godzilla, they can stomp and laser their way through the new map, though one player accidentally discovered a glitch, one that gave them an easy win.
Fortnite Confirms When Tilted Towers is Coming Back
Epic Games surprises fans of Fortnite by announcing when players will see the return of Tilted Towers in the popular battle royale.
Reddit user PhysicalSouth5562 encountered the strange glitch after becoming Godzilla in Fortnite, which in turn allowed them to become invincible. The player explains that they were defeated after becoming Godzilla, but instead of the match ending like normal, they continued to walk the map as the large lizard-like monster. Godzilla continued to move, taking the player through Fortnite's unrelenting storm fog, but they say they took practically no damage. The final circles closed in, resulting in the player winning their match due to being "invincible."
New Fortnite Godzilla Glitch Makes Player Invincible
It's unclear what caused this glitch to occur, but it seems like an easy way to grab a Victory Royale, at least before it gets fixed. Godzilla was added to one of Fortnite's recent updates, completely changing both the looks and feel of the game's current map. Not only do players now need to watch out for opponents with Fortnite's list of new swords and masks, but they also need to watch out for Godzilla himself, who now stomps through the map. Also included in Fortnite's Godzilla-themed update are new skins, which add both Godzilla and King Kong. Several Godzilla-themed quests have debuted on Fortnite's challenge board, joining the game's daily, weekly, and story objectives.
Players are currently locked into Fortnite's exciting Chapter 6 Season 1 update cycle, which started late last year. Not only did this update make significant changes to the game's map and weapon pool, but Season 1 also marked the start of Fortnite's brand-new battle pass, which includes several skins unique to Fortnite, as well as Baymax from Disney's Big Hero 6. Baymax is one of several Disney characters to make their way into Fortnite, with several more rumored for future updates. Fortnite's Season 1 officially wraps up on February 21, with Season 2 set to continue the fun shortly after.
