One of the most interesting additions in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has been the Wastelander Challenges, which allow players to get some extra rewards and make the game even more exciting. These daring challenges put the players under extreme test, so careful planning is required before taking them on.
Fortnite: Every Mythic Weapon, Ranked (Chapter 6 Season 2)
The best Mythic weapons in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 will help players prove that they are the ultimate Battle Royale champion.
Wastelander Challenges create a sense of mastery over Battle Royale, as players can put further crutches on their play style and punish themselves in exchange for higher XP gains. Wastelander Challenges come in a few forms and can be found in a few locations, all of which, can be seen below.
Every Wastelander Challenge
Wastelander Challenges are scattered across four locations on the map, and players can get any of them at random. Each of these challenges significantly ramps up the difficulty of the Battle Royale match that it has been activated for, adding further challenge to the individual who has accepted the challenge for further XP gains. Below, are all the available Wastelander Challenges in Fortnite:
- Perma-Damage – Health and shield items are disabled
- Jammed Clips – Disables reload
- The Ground is Lava – Damage incurred on touching the ground
- Unshielded – Shields disabled
- Full Throttle – Damage incurred whenever at stationary state
- Burnin’ Hot Items – Damage incurred when picking up items
It should be noted that all of these restrictions are applied for the entirety of a match, and there is no way to undo these as such. Players can get these challenges by heading to the Wastelander Beacon on the map, and then interacting with it. This will show up the challenge, and then players can simply accept it to activate it.
Wastelander Beacon Locations
There are four Wastelander Beacons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 and they can only be used before the second storm circle. Anytime after this, they will be inactive. Here are the locations where the Wastelander Beacons are currently available.
- At Rebel's Roost POI
- East of Classy Courts, at Slumberyard right beside the arched water body
- South of Reckless Railways, at the Dumpenhausen, right where the snow ends
- East of Brutal Beachead, at Megalo Depot close to the coastline.
Out of these, the best one to choose is probably the one that is farther away from the path of the Battle Bus. For instance, it is a good idea to go for either Rebel's Roost or Brutal Beachead if the Battle Bus is going from east to west towards the center of the map or vice versa.
Each of these challenges might look quite daunting and not worth it at first, but they are in fact great for earning XP. Players can easily get over 200,000 XP from just using these in Fortnite, which speaks volumes about their efficiency.
