Summary

  • Fortnite OG Season 3 will end on June 7 at 2 PM ET.
  • A recent Twitter post made by Epic Games implies that Dusty Depot may disappear.
  • Many players believe that Season 4 is where the game truly began to take off, with more interesting NPCs and exciting storylines.

With the end of Fortnite OG Season 3 approaching, Epic Games has begun teasing what will happen after the upcoming live event. Epic Games released two OG remix mini-seasons in November 2023 and 2024, in which players were able to return to the Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 islands, respectively, to relive the good old days or experience them for the first time. This allowed many to try out Fortnite without some of the more recent mechanics and weapons that had been added in the later seasons.

Given that Fortnite OG has been a huge success, Epic Games decided to turn it into a permanent game mode. First, it created Fortnite Reload, which is a game mode with revamped versions of previous islands and different Battle Royale mechanics, in which players will respawn until late in the game. However, the studio then came up with Fortnite OG, which is a more fleshed-out game mode that takes place in Chapter 1 and allows fans to enjoy the events of the first chapter at a faster pace.

With Chapter 1 Season 3 of Fortnite OG coming to an end soon, gamers have started preparing for the Meteor event, one of the most important pieces of lore in Fortnite to date. Epic Games has started to tease what is to come following the live event, as players who did not play through Season 3 the first time around will not be familiar with its aftermath. The official Fortnite Twitter account recently shared an image of Dusty Depot, one of the first OG named locations in Fortnite, and remarked how it would be a shame if anything terrible happened to it.

When Does Fortnite OG Season 3 End?

  • June 7, 2025, at 2 PM ET

Players who picked up the title back in April 2018 know what's coming, but those who weren't there will have to wait until the start of Chapter 1 Season 4 OG to learn more. This season of Fortnite OG comes to an end on June 7 at 2 PM ET, following the recent end of season date change in Fortnite, and the next is expected to start immediately after, so gamers won't have to wait long to find out what happens next.

Fans who are interested in Fortnite's lore won't want to miss Season 4 OG. After the Meteor event, many of the title's more exciting storylines began to develop over time, and more interesting and complex NPCs were introduced, such as Hope, the Foundation, the Visitor, Daigo, and many others. It is unknown how much Chapter 1 Season 4 will explore when it comes to the game's lore, but if live events take place once again, players will likely be able to experience the Rocket Launch event in Fortnite once again.
