Summary

  • The Wasteland biome in Fortnite emphasizes vehicles, making them more important than ever.
  • Epic Games collaborated with Tesla to bring the Cybertruck to Fortnite, causing controversy among players.
  • A glitch discovered by a Reddit user allows players to prevent damage to the Cybertruck in-game.

The Tesla Cybertruck was added to Fortnite recently, and it seems that it has an unfair competitive advantage caused by a glitch. Chapter 5 Season 3, also known as Fortnite Wrecked, introduced players to a new biome, the Wasteland. Here, the Wasteland Warriors are the rulers, and they watch over the lands on their powerful and highly modded vehicles. This is exactly why cars have become more important than ever this season. While some players aren't fans of the car meta and prefer to play Fortnite Reload instead, others enjoy the hectic environment it brings to the Battle Royale.

The overall attention given to vehicles has increased significantly in the past year. It all started with the release of Rocket Racing, Fortnite's Rocket League-like game mode, the cross-platform compatibility between vehicle cosmetics in Fortnite and Rocket League, and lastly, the focus on cars in Chapter 5 Season 3. This vehicle craze opened several doors for Epic Games and even allowed it to join forces with unexpected companies, such as Tesla.

Fortnite Leak Suggests Fan-Favorite Collabs Might Come Back, But There's A Catch

A new Fortnite leak suggests that players could soon be getting some of their favorite collabs back in the game, but there is a catch.

The Tesla Cybertruck was released as a reward for completing Fortnite's Summer Road Trip Quests before the update on August 6. Once the update drops, it will be available in the Item Shop, but it must be purchased with V-Bucks. However, players might want to unlock it before then, as it has a particular advantage in-game. Radioactive_IceCubes, a member of the Fortnite community on Reddit, found that there is a glitch that makes it so the Cybertruck can't be damaged by the Nitro Fists or the Ship in a Bottle item.

How to Prevent the Cybertruck From Taking Impact Damage

  • Enter a car that hasn't been transformed while the Nitro Fists or the Ship in a Bottle item is in your inventory

In Fortnite, if players have a customized vehicle set in their Locker, a car will transform so it looks exactly the same as the customized set when the player enters it in-game. The Reddit user discovered that the Tesla will be immune to Nitro Fist or Ship in a Bottle damage if the player enters a car and it transforms while they have one of these items in their inventory. The official Fortnite Status account on social media has acknowledged this error and the team is working to get it fixed soon.

Many gamers weren't happy about the fact that Epic Games collaborated with Tesla to bring the Cybertruck to Fortnite. In fact, some members of the community even pledged to attack Cybertrucks they came across in Fortnite. So, it seems that fans who want to use the Cybertruck as their main vehicle in Fortnite might want to activate this glitch so they can prevent their car from being damaged.
