The Fortnite Crew subscription service dates back to December 2, 2020. For players willing to spend $11.99 per month, Crew provides its subscribers with the current battle pass, additional V-Bucks, and a number of cosmetics. The most popular of these cosmetic incentives come in the form of Crew-exclusive Fortnite skins.

Every month, subscribers are given a new skin as part of their Crew Pack. While not every skin is an original character — some are remixes of popular skins from the past, and a few have even been existing licensed characters — they are all designed specifically for the Fortnite Crew subscription. The following tier list takes a look at these exclusive skins and determines which reign supreme and which might have been worth skipping.

Fortnite: 12 Best Creepy Skins in the Game

Fortnite's selection of cosmetics has something for everyone, including terrifying skins fit to star in nightmares.

S-Tier Skins: The Best of the Best

  • The Burning Wolf
  • Phaedra
  • Joni the Red
  • Ares

Not only are these top tier selections the best skins that Crew has offered, but they're some of the best in all of Fortnite. Each skin here is filled to the brim with character and detail that makes them highly desirable. In fact, Phaedra and Joni proved so popular that they each had a subsequent skin — Festival Phaedra and Joni the Scarlet — released in the shop. Ares and the Burning Wolf, on the other hand, are Fortnite's best attempts at combining tactical gear with a mythical aesthetic. All of these skins made their respective Crew Packs worth the fee, especially for subscribers who stuck around long enough to get Ares' additional styles.

A-Tier Skins: Great Additions to the Game

  • Princess Lexa
  • Vi
  • Gildhart
  • Chaos Origins
  • Silas Hesk
  • Shimmerdusk
  • Galaxia

Though not as iconic as the S-tier skins, there's still a lot to appreciate in this category. In addition to being unique skins with fun designs, characters like Princess Lexa, Gildhart, Shimmerdusk, and Silas Hesk were great thematic fits for their respective seasons/chapters. Galaxia was also the first ever Fortnite Crew skin and set a high standard for all that followed.

B-Tier Skins: Above Average Designs

  • Persephone
  • Rift Knight Kieran
  • Sylvie
  • Sierra
  • Breezabelle
  • Loki Laufeyson
  • Skull Scout
  • Katt
  • Mecha Cuddle Master
  • Wolverine Zero

These skins might not make the average player rush out to snag a Crew subscription, but they're all worthy locker additions. Sylvie and Rift Knight Kieran make for fun duo outfits — so does Persephone for any player who got Hades in the Chapter 5 Season 2 battle pass — and Breezabelle is a nice update on the popular Isabelle skin. Loki and Wolverine Zero are both high quality skins, though many Marvel fans have questioned Epic's decision to forever lock them away behind Crew Packs.

C-Tier Skins: Decent but Not Noteworthy

  • Llambro
  • Llana Lane
  • Spirit Hunter Saeko
  • Prince Orin
  • Tracy Trouble
  • Jing
  • Cube Assassin
  • Red Claw
  • Astrea
  • Drakon Steel Hybrid
  • Dali

Generally speaking, these character designs are decent. Some thought clearly went into them, but the final product has a more niche appeal than the skins in the previous three tiers. That isn't to say that any of these skins are bad — clearly someone liked the Cube Assassin as it's making its way into the upcoming Battle Bus Lego set — but they'll likely be glossed over by players browsing their lockers.

D-Tier Skins: Trailing Behind the Pack

  • Snow Stealth Slone
  • Dahlia
  • Summer Skye
  • The Inkquisitor
  • Southpaw
  • Loveless
  • Triarch Knox
  • Alli
  • Mecha Strike Commander
  • Green Arrow

None of these designs are abysmal, but the personality gushing from previously mentioned skins has started drying up at this tier. Snow Stealth Slone and Summer Skye are fine skins on their own, but they're both inferior to their original battle pass counterparts. Mecha Strike Commander is similarly a more bland-looking version of Mecha Team Leader. Skins like Southpaw and the Inkquisitor at least present some unique ideas within their designs, but their overall aesthetics aren't as strong as they could be.

F-Tier Skins: The Bottom of the Barrel

  • The Operator
  • Sayara
  • Styx
  • Aftermath
  • Deimos

All of these skins are severely lacking compared to the other tiers on this list. The Operator's color scheme just doesn't mesh with her design, and while alternate styles are available for her, they require players to subscribe for additional months in order to unlock them. Sayara is arguably one of the more forgettable skins in the whole game. Aftermath and Deimos both feel like Fortnite skins with their urban tactical aesthetic, but they are otherwise dated and uninspired in their designs. There's certainly an audience out there for these characters, but the skins in this tier likely won't stand the test of time.
