Summary

  • Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 brings a Greek theme to the game with new skins and abilities, including Zeus and Wings of Icarus.
  • Players can also utilize the Thunderbolt of Zeus to leap into the air and toss bolts of lighting at enemies.
  • Another collaboration with Nickelodeon introduces Avatar Korra, with other rumors teasing potential crossovers with Disney and Hercules later in Season 2.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 adds an Ancient Greece theme to the online shooter, with new skins for the various Gods like Zeus, weapons, powers like the Wings of Icarus, as well as another collaboration with Nickelodeon. Part of the appeal of Fortnite is the fact that the game is always evolving, with new seasons introducing big new mechanics as well as new gameplay components. However, for many fans, Chapter 5 Season 1's biggest contributions were the arrival of Rocket Racing and LEGO Fortnite, modes that gave fans a completely fresh way to play.

In the past few weeks, there have been no shortage of Fortnite related teases and leaks about what Season 2 would ultimately bring, so it's unlikely that there was much surprise related to the Ancient Greece-themed season once it was revealed. Epic even teased the coming season with an in-game event featuring Pandora's Box held up by a massive Titan hand. Surprisingly, once the box opened, players gained the ability to build within Zero Mode. Either way, the Greek-themed season is now here, and it brings with it tons of new content.

Fortnite Anime Crossover Skin Wish List

Fortnite has already collaborated with a ton of popular anime, but there is still a wealth of great options for future Fortnite anime crossovers.

As expected, the reveal trailer and accompanying blog post from Epic Games has revealed a ton of new details for Chapter 5, Season 2, including the arrival of new map destinations like Brawler's Battleground, Mount Olympus, and The Underworld. Of course, new weapons have been added to the loot pool, like the Gatekeeper Shotgun, though many fans will likely flock to new abilities such as the Thunderbolt of Zeus, which shoots players into the sky to throw bolts of lightning down upon their enemies. Similarly, players can acquire the Wings of Icarus to allow them to not only fly, but divebomb enemies from above. As is in the myth, if players use the wings for too long, they'll burn up completely, so players will need to manage that.

The Battle Pass also gives players a chance to unlock the Grecian Gods and monsters as well, with cosmetic skins for Zeus, Aphrodite, a Slurp version of Poseidon, Medusa, Cerberus, Artemis, and Hades. Many weapons from Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 are also returning, and players have two additional weapon mods to play with in the Thermal Scope and Speedgrip.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Collaboration

While Epic Games teamed up with Nickelodeon on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event in Season 1, the two companies have partnered up again for Season 2 by bringing Avatar Korra from the Last Airbender franchise into Fortnite. Sporting a similar visual style to the other animated skins, Korra was surrounded by a ring of water to help power her waterbending attacks. Unfortunately, not much else is known about what she can do, though with her arrival confirmed for later this season, fans likely won't be hearing much else until her launch approaches.

The partnership with Nickelodeon may not be the first and last crossover happening in Season 2, as numerous rumors have indicated a potential collaboration with Disney and Hercules. Considering Chapter 5, Season 2 features Greek Gods and monsters, adding a character like Hercules wouldn't be too surprising, especially following the news that Disney just recently invested $1.5 billion into Epic Games to create games and a connected universe. However, there are some that would rather the Hercules collaboration feature Kevin Sorbo's live-action version instead, but for now, fans will have to wait and see which direction Epic Games will go.
