Epic Games has now officially confirmed that the next season of Fortnite will see the original Chapter 2 map return as part of a special season known as Remix Chapter 2. After sharing a new teaser trailer for the upcoming season over the weekend, Fortnite fans were left concerned after noticing that the clips were still using the Chapter 5 map, but Epic has now reassured players that the iconic island from 2019 will be making its triumphant return.
Back in 2023, Epic Games released Fortnite OG, a new one-month-long season that saw players return to the game's original map from Chapter 1, along with classic weapons, vehicles, items, and more. The special season was a massive success for Fortnite, bringing in almost 45 million players with over 102 million hours played in just a single day, making it the biggest Battle Royale season to date. Now it looks like the studio is aiming to replicate that success once again as Epic has confirmed that a new mini-season is on the horizon, with the Chapter 2 map now set to take the spotlight.

Fortnite Confirms Chapter 2 Map Returning Soon
After teasing Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 over the weekend, Epic Games has now officially confirmed that the special season will see the original Chapter 2 map return. Although this might seem obvious given the name of the season, fans were left confused by the recent teaser video as it still displayed the current Chapter 5 map. Thankfully, in a new tweet on the official Fortnite Twitter account, Epic said, "Yes, we're going back to the Chapter 2 island." The studio also noted that there would be "splashes" of content from the earliest seasons.
After previous leaks for Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 suggested there would also be a new live event for the upcoming season, Epic Games confirmed the rumors, saying, "Yes, there's an event." While the announcement of a live event is all the details fans have for now, Epic did go on to state that more information surrounding the event would be shared on October 29, likely via a new blog post on the game's official website.
Although details on the next season of Fortnite are sparse, a prominent leaker has suggested that the release date for Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 will be Saturday, November 2. The return of Chapter 2 is also expected to operate similarly to Fortnite OG, with new seasons being rotated in frequently. If leaks are to be believed, Chapter 2 Season 2 will then be released on November 9, followed by Season 3 on November 23 before coming to an end with a Chapter 6 live event on November 30.
