Fortnite has begun to reveal details about its highly anticipated Batman crossover comic. The upcoming collaboration between Epic Games and DC Comics will see The Dark Knight transported onto the battle royale island, seeking a way to escape the mysterious Loop while uncovering the origins of Fortnite's Zero Point.

Epic Games' enduringly popular free-to-play battle royale is now in its second month of Season 6. The new season, dubbed "Primal," has seen a number of changes to the game's meta, including the addition of fauna such as chickens, wolves, and more recently dinosaurs. Season 6 has also introduced a primal weapon crafting system, Guardian boss fights, and other changes that remain somewhat divisive among fans.

The upcoming crossover comic will be released in six installments, and is title Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point. A synopsis of the series on Fortnite's official website says the Caped Crusader will be drawn into a "bizarre and unfamiliar world," without any memory of who he is or where he came from. Batman will come face-to-face with several of the game's original characters, including Renegade Raider, Fishstick, Bandolier, and more. Bruce Wayne apparently won't be the only Gotham City import, as Catwoman and Harley Quinn appear on the first issue's cover as well. While details remain scarce on how exactly the plot will unfold, its been confirmed that fans can expect a showdown with G.I. Joe's Snake Eyes at some point.

Each print issue of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will include a redeemable code for bonus DC-themed Fortnite digital items inspired by the events in the comic, starting with the new Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit. As an additional reward, any player who redeems all six codes from each of the six comic book issues will unlock the new Armored Batman Zero Outfit. Issue #1 launches on April 20 in North America, with the next installments arriving bi-monthly in May and June before the final comic releases on July 6. US subscribers of DC Universe Infinite can also receive redeemable digital codes for the crossover cosmetics as well.

While the pairing of Batman and the battle royale game may seem a bit odd, its far from the first time the two entities have intersected. Fortnite held a Batman crossover event back in 2019, which introduced a myriad of themed cosmetics and weapons, including the iconic Grapnel Gun and Explosive Batarang. Players were also treated to a takeover of the Tilted Town POI, turning it into Gotham City. Given that the last DC-oriented event didn't have an accompanying comic, players can likely expect an even bigger Dark Knight presence this time around.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point seems like a good strategy to get gamers into reading comics, and Batman fans into trying out Fortnite. However, some players who don't play Fortnite for the story (or DC cosmetics) won't be interested in separately purchasing a physical book, let alone six. Those that prefer the regular grind can be rewarded with a different set of cosmetics, as super level Relic skins for Tarana, Raz, and Spire Assassin have recently been revealed.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
