Summary

  • Fortnite may soon collaborate with the Avatar movie franchise, bringing new iconic character skins to the game.
  • Leaker SamLeakss claimed the crossover is happening, adding to a list of rumored upcoming partnerships.
  • The speculation surrounding Fortnite's collaborations comes ahead of the start of Chapter 6 in December.

A prominent leaker has teased that Fortnite could be crossing over with the Avatar movie franchise in the near future. The first film in the blockbuster franchise was directed by James Cameron and debuted in 2009. Fans had to wait for quite a while before the sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, was finally released in 2022. Given the intense popularity of the movies and the iconic design of their characters, a collaboration with Fortnite seems like a natural fit.

Collaborations are nothing new for Fortnite. The battle royale is currently in the middle of a shorter season, Chapter 2 Remix, which has featured crossovers with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and the late artist Juice WRLD. These collaborations are coming hot off the heels of Fortnite's second full-blown Marvel season. While famous comic book characters took center-stage during the previous season, fans were also treated to crossovers with Saw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Peter Pan, Maleficent, and more. While some of these collaborations could be attributed to the partnership between Epic Games and Disney, many are just a testament to Fortnite's ability to continually bring pillars of pop culture into the game.

Popular Fortnite and Rocket League leaker SamLeakss claims to have confirmed a collaboration between Avatar and the battle royale. According to them, a rumor about the crossover has been circulating for quite some time. However, this is the first time the leaker has been able to confirm the information for themselves. This news comes amid a flurry of announcements, as SamLeakss also recently posted about a collaboration between Fortnite and Godzilla.

Fortnite's Avatar Crossover Will Likely Include New Skins

While very few specifics are known about the crossover between Avatar and Fortnite, players can likely expect to see new skins coming to the game's battle pass or item shop. It seems as if Epic Games has been busy arranging a multitude of partnerships, as SamLeakss also recently posted about an upcoming collaboration with Cyberpunk 2077.

The recent uptick in leaks and rumors around Fortnite likely has a lot to do with its upcoming new chapter. Anytime the game moves from one chapter to the next, fans are exposed to an abundance of changes. For instance, Epic Games recently announced that it will be changing how its Fortnite Crew subscription works. This news was accompanied by a price increase associated with Fortnite's battle pass. The Epic Games Store also tweeted that the new season will feature a collaboration with the upcoming release of Marvel Rivals. Players will have the opportunity to earn a free cosmetic in Fortnite by playing the new hero shooter. With so much news breaking, it looks like fans have a lot to look forward to when Fortnit e releases Chapter 6 in December.
