Fort Solis is the debut video game for studio Fallen Leaf, working in conjunction with Black Drakkar Games and publisher Dear Villagers. The game centers around Jack Leary (voiced by Roger Clark, the voice of Red Dead Redemption 2's Arthur Morgan), a senior engineer on Mars, as he responds to an emergency alarm call out from the remote mining base of Fort Solis. Together with the assistance of Jessica Appleton (voiced by Julia Brown of The Last Kingdom and World On Fire), Jack must get to the bottom of the mystery of what happened to the inhabitants of the outpost in a tense and high-fidelity, narrative-focussed psychological thriller.

Main Story Completion Time

While the developers have claimed that the main story will take players roughly 4 hours to complete, it can really be done in less than 3, especially for players who have a vague idea of where they are going and what they are doing. The first chapter will take players between half an hour and forty minutes to complete. The second will be longer, at around an hour's worth of gameplay. Chapter 3 is also relatively short at around half an hour, while the final chapter should take players around an hour to complete.

Despite its short length, Fort Solis is still worth multiple playthroughs. It can be easy to miss many of the game's hidden clues and audio logs, which help to develop and enrich the game's characters and story the first time around.

100% Completion

To achieve 100% completion, it will take slightly longer: up to 5 hours. Many of the collectible items are quite straight forward to find, and achievements are awarded for various interactions with objects around the station. With a total of 20 achievements available, it is possible for achievement-hunters to attain 100% completion in a single playthrough. Most players will unlock many of these simply by progressing through the game's main story.

To achieve 100% completion, players will need to know how to unlock Helen's safe in the final chapter of the story. They must also interact with items such as the beer bottle, snooker table and punch bag.

Fort Solis is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Mac.
