In Forspoken, players will take control of Frey, and fight through the land of Athia with a whole host of magical abilities and powers. Along their travels, and by progressing through the campaign, players will unlock unique gear that will give them helpful buffs and boons.
Necklaces are one of these unlocks, and can be found in various locations across the map. Equipping different necklaces will grant various boosts and alter Frey’s stats, such as health, stamina, defense, and the strength of her magical powers. With such a wide variety of necklaces, which ones are best to equip? Here are all Forspoken’s necklaces, ranked by power.
13 Phool Sa
With some of the poorest stats of any necklace, Phool Sa is best avoided. While it does increase damage when fighting against nightmares, it possesses no additional effects and has the weakest bonus to Frey’s magic of the bunch.
The Phool Sa necklace is rewarded for defeating the pack of wolves found at Thane Village.
12 Nadezhda/Nemeni Prisha/Naee Aasha
These three necklaces are in a category of their own. Each one does buff Frey’s magic stats, but none have any major effects, and there are better options out there. It’s worth noting that Nadezhda is the weakest of the three, whereas Nemeni Prisha and Naee Aasha provide significantly more health and magical power.
Nadezhda is acquired from Vivus Village. Meanwhile, Nemeni Prisha and Naee Aasha are unlocked by completing side quests in chapters 7 and 10 respectively.
11 Aslani
Aslani has rather average stats, and doesn’t increase Frey’s health or magical power by much. Its main trait is that enemies are downed for longer, which can be useful in situations where Frey is in danger of being overwhelmed, or if there is a powerful opponent that needs to be kept down for players to recover health or stamina. Beyond that, it has little use.
The Aslani necklace can be retrieved from Shoal Pond after eliminating the monstrous alligators found there.
10 Sarka
Slightly weaker than Aslani in terms of raw magical power, the main value of Sarka comes from its main trait, which increases the amount of damage that support magic deals out. Given that support spells are a central tool in Frey’s arsenal, and that each style of magic has a multitude of different support spells that can be wielded, Sarka is a widely applicable and reliable necklace to equip.
It can be located at the Ruins of Pagus in the eastern part of the map.
9 Yavuz Gagnant
Especially useful if casting blue magic, this Necklace can be used to good effect if players can counter incoming attacks at just the right moment. This is called a precision counter, and performing one with Yavuz Gagnant equipped will freeze enemies, allowing Frey some more freedom in taking them out. The necklace also has the bonus of boosting surge magic recharge rate after casting Frequency.
Yavuz Gagnant is obtainable from a chest in Colline Village.
8 Oithur
With good increases to player health and solid buffs to Frey’s magic, Oithur is another decent pick. If equipped, Frey will expend less stamina while performing counters, meaning it may be more viable to counter rather than dodge, especially if players can time it just right, get a precision counter, and strike back with full force.
The Oithur necklace is found in the Ruins of Austur in the Visoria region.
7 Troth
The Troth necklace has two key traits. When equipped, performing killing blows (which are essentially special attacks that do massive damage to finish off depleted foes), will boost the recharge rate of surge magic. Once surge magic is fully charged, the other trait allows enemies to be knocked down more easily. These two traits work in tandem with each other to assist Frey in combat.
Troth is earned as a reward for completing the Locked Labyrinth: Depth detour.
6 Shrift
While it has some weak overall stats, Shrift has a very good trait that increases Frey’s damage while surge magic is not fully charged. As surge magic is refilled by dealing damage to enemies, this means the extra damage will charge it faster, while also dispatching opponents more quickly. Players can then cast their powerful surge spells more often than before, which augments the increased damage output this necklace provides.
Shrift can be unlocked upon completion of Locked Labyrinth: Mountain.
5 Orison
Particularly useful in the early game, this necklace has one key trait that sets it apart from all others. It heals Frey after killing an enemy, allowing players to sustain themselves in fights without the need for healing flasks or spells. The only downside is that it has some pretty awful stats, making it suitable for use in the early game, but lacking in the later game.
This necklace is awarded for the completion of Locked Labyrinth: East.
4 Sooth
With magical stats that break into the 100s, Sooth is among the game’s best necklaces. It increases the damage of attack, support, and surge magic. While this isn’t the most impactful beyond Frey’s opening attacks, as players will likely use stamina to counter and dodge in combat, Sooth’s increased health and magical strength make it a worthwhile necklace to equip.
Sooth can be obtained by completing Locked Labyrinth: South.
