It was later announced in February 2024 that developer Far From Home had signed a deal with Sony to launch Forever Skies as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive.
The developer Far From Home has created a first-person survival game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting where the planet has fallen into disrepair after an ecological disaster. While the title features a unique science fiction setting, many fans have come to the conclusion that Forever Skies provides direct commentary on climate change and the relationship humans have with the earth. Throughout their journey, players will construct and upgrade an airship that acts as their home base, carrying them to new locations where they will scavenge for parts and unravel the mysteries of an illness plaguing humanity.
