At the start of a new career in Football Manager 26, it can be fairly overwhelming with all the messages and tasks that managers face, especially when having to learn the new UI for this iteration of the series. It's also fairly unrealistic that one person would have to almost single-handedly run an entire club.
Best Games To Play If You Enjoy Rematch
If players enjoy the fast pace and arcade nature of Rematch, then they might like these other sports games, even if they aren't all about football.
Thankfully, staff delegation exists, allowing players to offload tasks to members of staff, and this should be one of the first things to do. With the new UI in mind, this guide will show players where to find the staff delegation menu in Football Manager 26, and explain how to use it.
Where To Find The Delegate Staff Menu In Football Manager 26
To find the staff delegation menu in FM 26, use the following steps:
- Click on the Club tab at the top.
- Click Staff to bring up a pop-up window.
- Click the Responsibilities tile, which is the bottom right one.
- Switch from Overview to Delegation.
The Overview menu is also important to see how many roles each member of staff has, including yourself, but the changes are made in Delegation.
How To Delegate Staff Responsibilities In Football Manager 26
After finding the Delegation menu, players should see that it is broken down into different aspects of running the club. Ignore the Board for now, as control is likely out of reach anyway.
Media is an easy one to look at and understand. To begin with, your manager will have control of all media responsibilities. By clicking the purple buttons that say 'Delegate', media tasks will be given to an appropriate member of your staff. You can also do this by clicking on the name to choose a staff member directly.
For example, you might want to assign a Director of Football to deal with New Signing Press Conferences.
Make sure to press Confirm! Otherwise, these changes won't be saved.
For other categories, make sure to scroll down. It's easy to miss these. Some categories have many responsibilities to go through.
Checking How Many Responsibilities You Have?
Above this menu, you should see 'X Under Control' and 'X Delegated to Staff'. You can also switch back to the Overview tab and see how many responsibilities each member of staff has, and see exactly what the tasks are for each of them.
This can help you see if responsibilities are balanced among the entire staff department.
Which Responsibilities Should You Delegate In Football Manager 26?
At the end of the day, there's no right or wrong amount of delegation, and it depends on how players want to play and their experience level. Veterans of the Football Manager series might want to control everything, while others might want to roleplay as a Director of Football in one save, assigning all the traditional manager roles to their assistant manager.
Staff Delegation For New Football Manager Players
Football Manager 26 is not an easy game to get into, and even hardcore players of the franchise might struggle with the new UI and revamped tactics. Therefore, while learning the game, it can be best to focus on just a few things at once, assigning everything else.
For example, you could entirely focus on tactics, team selection, and team talks, while assigning all recruitment elements.
Great Sports Management Games That Are Not Football Manager
For those who enjoy the sports management genre but are tired of Football Manager, these are the perfect choices to branch out.
Realistic Staff Delegation In Football Manager 26
If players are looking for an immersive experience, then delegation is realistic as managers very rarely control everything, especially in the modern day. The extent of this, however, can depend on the club. For example, big clubs can afford more members of staff to spread the responsibilities out and make things easier for the manager.
Some clubs also see managers more as coaches who can be replaced at any time. This is becoming increasingly more common.
