Black Powder is a major resource in the world of Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn, with Nor carrying up to three weapons that use it. Nor's offhand weapon is a one-handed pistol that can be used to quickly take out enemies at close range or interrupt an attack instead of having to dodge or parry.
Nor will also have up to two long rifles which require her to stop and load before firing. These weapons aren't very efficient to use during combat, but deal a ton of damage and are great for picking off difficult enemies before charging in with your axe. Managing ammo is different for both types of guns, here's how to increase ammo and charge it if necessary.

How To Charge Black Powder Charges In Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn
Black Powder Charges represent how many bullets can be stored in your pistol at a time. These bullets are charged and can only be obtained by attacking an enemy or resting. It normally takes about four or five hits to fully charge a bullet, with bullets from all pistols charging at the same rate. These bullets do fully restock should you rest at a Lodestone or die and respawn.
The number of Black Powder Charges a pistol has is determined by the weapon equipped, with the amount appearing in the bottom left corner of the screen when that gun is equipped. When looking at a pistol in the inventory, there will be three stats to look out for:
- Black Powder Charges
- Damage
- Stun
Like axes, guns can also be upgraded to increase their stats. While Black Powder Charges can be charged in any fight, the number carried should be considered when deciding which weapon to carry as players can only carry one pistol at a time, unlike long rifles.

How To Carry More Bullets In Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn
While the number of pistol shots available is determined by the gun, there is one skill upgrade players can get give one extra shot to any pistol equipped. It is the third upgrade in the Powder skill tree, "Extra Shot" and will cost 5,500 Reputation to purchase. This only affects your pistol, as the ammo for long rifles is set in stone.
Long Rifles come with set amounts of ammo and can only be replenished by resting at a Lodestones. Nor can have two long rifles equipped at a time, and they will use different ammo even if the rifles are similar. While this doesn't increase the ammo of an existing gun, this does give you more ammo to use in general. There is no requirement to unlock the second long rifle slot, with players only needing to find another long rifle to have it be automatically equipped. For those earlier into the game, an early second rifle is found in the Sulfur Mine, a location the main quest will take players to.
