In Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, players will progress through a few initial tutorial missions to teach the basic mechanics and controls of the game. As they start to get the hang of things and the story kicks off, they will begin to take on missions that gradually give fewer and fewer tips, meaning they now have to take some initiative and work things out on their own.

How to Breach Mile's End Barricade in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
After working their way through a couple of objectives that involve clearing out some enemies, speaking to locals, traveling through Rifs, and shooting down some Banners, then players will soon encounter the Mile's End Barricade, which is blocking the path they need to take to continue progressing through the Battle Hardened quests.
To breach barricades in Flintlock, players will need to locate a barrel, equip it in the space available among the rocks, back away to a safe distance, and then explode the barrel with the use of their gun. This will blow up the barricade and free up the path for you to keep moving forward.
Up until this point, you will have sourced your explosive barrels from characters who give them to you, or in plain sight just sitting in front of a barricade. This time around, you will need to search through the area to find the barrel that you need. Luckily, this is very easy once you know where to look, as the barrel is hidden in plain sight. Approach the Mile's End Barricade, and look directly at it. Now turn around behind you, and you should be able to see a ledge.
Sitting on top of this ledge is the barrel that you need to blow through the rocks of the barricade and keep moving forward. You can reach the top of this ledge with some easy movement from your double jumps, and then press E to pick the barrel up. From here, you can simply walk back over to the barricade, place it in the designated spot, and then move back and shoot. You will now have cleared the path and be free to continue on with your quest - easy as that!
