The Best War Games can exclusively reveal a new excerpt from an interview with Five Nights at Freddy's 2 star Skeet Ulrich, featured in the bonus content of the film’s newly announced 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release. The physical edition of the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie adaptation is scheduled to arrive in early 2026.
The second Five Nights at Freddy’s film opened in U.S. Theaters on December 5. As of December 21, it is estimated to have grossed over $200 million worldwide, led by a $63 million domestic opening weekend. With the high end of its budget estimates representing just a quarter of its global box office gross, the movie has already established itself as a commercial success. While its theatrical run is still ongoing, the film received a VOD release earlier today, December 23. Universal Pictures has also announced 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions, scheduled to debut on February 17, 2026.
Reasons The First FNAF Game Is A Horror Masterclass
The franchise has grown massively, but going back to the basics of the first Five Nights At Freddy's reveals the horror genius of the series.
FNAF 2 Shares Preview of One of Its Blu-Ray Bonus Features
As is typical with physical releases, the FNAF 2 discs will include a range of bonus features. Universal Pictures has shared an excerpt from one of those featurettes, which The Best War Games can now exclusively reveal. The minute-long clip is taken from an interview with Skeet Ulrich, who portrays Henry Emily in the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 film. In the video, Ulrich discusses joining a franchise as large as FNAF, describing the move as "initially pretty daunting because of the amount of fandom behind it" and all the pressure that comes with that.
Ulrich frames Henry Emily as "a bit enigmatic because he's not seen so much as he's heard," concluding that the character's off-screen presence is part of the tension that the Five Nights at Freddy's sequel builds around him. That perspective feeds into one scene from the movie where Emily answers a door with Mike Schmidt (portrayed by Josh Hutcherson) on the other side, where Ulrich points to a "very little subtle move" that he did to better communicate how his character hadn’t been outside in a long time—a quick sideways glance that Hutcherson immediately picked up on and acknowledged after the take. The moment gave Ulrich the confidence to "continue down that line" of understated performance choices, the actor recalled.
While the commercial success of the first two silver screen adaptations suggests that the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise may receive a third film installment in the foreseeable future, such a project has not been officially confirmed yet. However, studio figures such as Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum and actor Matthew Lillard have previously publicly indicated that a threequel would be considered should the second movie perform well.
