On The First Descendant's Discord channel, user TFD_PD_Lee, a Nexon rep, announced the imminent arrival of the "much-requested" jiggle physics in the FPS game. They revealed that the Dave the Diver owner had approved this feature after "lengthy discussions." Even though this addition has already been greenlit, there is no final say on how and when jiggle physics will be implemented, with the rep promising more information in successive announcements.

How The First Descendant May Incorporate Jiggle Physics into the Game

In another message, TFD_PD_Lee shared the next step for Nexon to tackle as it proceeds with adding jiggle physics to The First Descendant. The Nexon rep said that the team was set to review including an "on/off option" for this feature, suggesting players may be able to choose the experience they want in this regard. Moreover, another Discord message clarified that the absence of jiggle physics at the time of release was not due to the studio's concerns about affecting the game's age rating, contrary to speculation.

Answering to those who were concerned that Nexon wasn't prioritizing working on other areas of improvement in The First Descendant, TFD_PD_Lee reassured fans that the devs were "deeply" focusing on the areas where they "have fallen short." The rep continued that jiggle physics is only a "small part" of the developer's effort and doesn't come at a cost. Additionally, it was revealed that layoff-hit Nexon has ramped up hiring for its dev team in order to move beyond "short-term fixes" and "rekindle the fun of the game."

Notably, The First Descendant fans are currently having a fine run with back-to-back fan-requested features getting the nod. Earlier in November, Nexon had confirmed photo mode for the shooter title, fulfilling another popular demand from fans. With more of these community-backed features coming in, devs hope that the work done translates into increased player engagement, bringing more success to the game.
