In First Call Trouble, two Personoids race against time to take out Residents before the latter group completes their task of shutting down the AI known as CAIN. This Among Us-like game puts a twist on each turn the story takes, and invites people on an ultimate trial of trust that can only end one of two ways: either the Personoids or the Residents win, completing their task.
First Class Trouble includes three stages, each more complex than the one before. Every map includes clues that can reveal teammates' identities, as well as items that players can gather to help them along the way. As Personoids, players need to be cautious and earn the trust of their fellow teammates, ultimately winning the game with a major reveal at the end.
7 Know How To Take Out Players
Taking out players is especially risky for Personoids, as they're the only ones who can perform solo-kills. These can be done by using syringes (although Residents can notice a Personoid picking one up), or through the environment in the following ways:
- Throwing a player into fire
- Throwing a player into a pool
- Pushing a player into electricity
- Pushing a player into a man-eating plant
- Pushing someone off the map (only available on the last level)
- Closing the airlock on a player
Apart from these, Personoids can choose to be a part of a co-op kill. The twist here is that co-op kills can only be performed with at least one Resident involved. That Resident needs to trust the other person helping them with the killing. To prove that a Personoid is trustworthy, it's smart to be involved in a co-op kill with a fellow teammate. But if two imposters happen to come across each other in a co-op kill, they won't be able to eliminate the Resident teammate, and the Resident will then know the identities of the imposters.
6 Know The Threat That Scanners Pose
Scanners are one of a Personoid's biggest enemies, as they can potentially pinpoint the identity of an imposter on board. Scanners can only be found in airlocks, and to get to the scanner, two people need to be present. One player needs to hold the door open while the other grabs the scanner. A Personoid can use this to their advantage, as they can trap and kill Residents in the airlocks.
Additionally, "corpse scanners" can scan and identify corpses. Corpses that are eaten by the man-eating plants cannot be scanned; therefore, people can't know if the person killed was an imposter or a Resident (although, chances are, the corpse will be a Resident's.)
5 Logs Are A Danger
Passenger logs contain clues that can help narrow down the search for imposters. The logs contain a list of names of possible imposters. On the first level, the list is vague enough for Personoids to get away: it contains more names, some of which are names of Residents. The higher the level, the more precise the list becomes, translating to a bigger threat.
Personoids can hack these logs, which is one of the best ways to avoid getting caught. In the very last stage, there will be additional passenger logs and scanners to help the Residents, but these are all kept in secluded spaces. Personoids thus have a chance to lock Residents in while obtaining the items.
4 The Bridge Is The Endgame
The last stage in the game involves crossing the bridge to shut down CAIN. This is the ultimate goal, and whoever gets to it first wins. Personoids have a few options here to avoid a Resident getting to the AI, all of them risky. If Residents aren't sure about who the imposters are, logs and scanners left on this map can help. These will surely reveal the identity of the Personoid, so if one has made it to this point, it's crucial to take out everyone still standing. This has to be done masterfully, as it is a tight space, and everyone can see everything.
Both locations with logs and scanners need two people to open and use, providing an opportunity for the imposter to lure Residents into these spaces and lock them in. If a Personoid manages to get past this stage, the only thing left is to cross the bridge and disable CAIN. To enable the bridge, one person has to activate it while another crosses. This is another good time to sabotage Residents, disabling the bridge at the perfect time. However, if a Personoid gets across the bridge and shuts down CAIN alone or with the help of a Resident, team-Personoid wins.
3 Be Careful During Voting
The voting process is possibly the most important part of the game. It happens at the end of each level and consists of two questions. Firstly, players must vote someone off. This is similar to the voting in Among Us, where people vote for the most suspicious character. The second question is: Are there any Personoids on board? If the majority answers "no," the game ends automatically, and if there are any imposters left, they win.
This should mean that Personoids should always say "no" to the last question. However, their job is to make the Residents trust them, no matter what. So to get out of a risky situation, try to place the blame on someone else for suspicious behavior, or full-on attack a teammate and accuse them of something. During the last question, it's safest to try and figure out where other members are standing. If only one person says "no," Residents may get suspicious.
2 Personoid Abilities
Personoids have three abilities to help them win. Firstly, they can see the location of syringes and players even through walls, which can come in handy when preparing to do something risky. Secondly, they can contact their fellow imposter in a way that can't be heard by anyone else. Finally, Personoids can see who the fellow imposter is in the group.
These abilities can be used throughout the game and can help when performing suspicious things, like killing someone, picking up an exclusively-Personoid item, and so on.
1 Sabotage Carefully
Personoids can use their robotic ways to sabotage the environment, be it tasks, oxygen tanks, and more. Personoids can decide to use items normally, or sabotage them. By sabotaging an oxygen station, imposters can potentially kill all Residents by lowering the oxygen levels in the entire area. But players need to make sure they know what they're doing, as all players will be notified of the act, and can vote the imposter off easily.
Personoids are also able to sabotage logs, meaning that Residents cannot pick them up and use them to narrow down their search; however, it includes an animation that other players can see. Lastly, Personoids can hack open doors, allowing them to get into areas without having to solve puzzles. These sorts of abilities are called "Personoid Shortcuts." Although this is a given ability for imposters, Residents can also pick up shortcut keys along the way, allowing them to do the same.
