Fire Emblem: Three Houses is one of my favorite games of all time, so I was beyond thrilled to see September 12's Nintendo Direct broadcast end with the announcement of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, a new title seemingly set in the same world. However, as much as I love Three Houses, I know it's not a perfect game, and one of its biggest flaws is the presence of several lingering unanswered questions even after completing every single route. Here are some questions I hope are answered in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave when it launches in 2026.

What's Going On With Demonic Beasts?

Demonic Beasts are an enemy type seen in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Some Demonic Beasts seem to be created when individuals without a Crest are exposed to Crest stones or Crest-based relics, while others have unknown origins. Some characters in Three Houses have connections to Demonic Beasts, such as Marianne von Edmund, who is supposedly descended from one, and Hapi, who can summon them when she sighs. Fortune's Weave's trailer shows a character, Leda, able to summon Demonic Beasts in combat, which has me hoping that the game will delve deeper into these mysterious enemies and reveal their secrets at long last.

What's Up With The Technology In This World?

FEFW06

For the most part, Fire Emblem: Three Houses features a roughly medieval fantasy setting, similar to other games in the Fire Emblem franchise. However, the antagonistic faction, Those Who Slither In The Dark, had access to surprisingly modern technology, including "arrows of light" that were essentially nuclear weapons. Why their technology was so advanced was never explained. The trailer for Fortune's Weave shows a character wielding what seems to be a modern pistol in combat, so it is possible the game will delve deeper into the strange presence of such technology.

Where Did The Nabateans Come From, And What Are They Up To?

One of the greatest mysteries in Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the long-lived race known as the Nabateans, who are able to transform into dragons. The Nabateans are worshiped as saints and form the backbone of much of Fodlan's central religion, the Church of Seiros. The group is mysterious, and left me with several questions, including "where do they come from?" "How did they become the subject of worship?" And more.

As the Nabatean Sothis was shown in the trailer for Fortune's Weave, I hope that she and her family members will be a major focus in the game. I'd love to see what the other Saints are up to in the game, especially Saints Indech and Macuil, who played a minor role in Three Houses and are still pretty mysterious. Plus, I'd love to finally see Saint Cichol and Saint Cethleann's dragon forms , and perhaps a grown-up design for Cethleann similar to Sothis' new adult appearance.

What's Happened With The Crest System?

With Sothis' grown-up look making it likely that Fortune's Weave takes place in the future — perhaps even the distant future — I'm curious to see how the Crest system has developed. In Three Houses, the nobility of most countries was highly Crest-focused, something characters like Edelgard von Hresvelg rebelled against. The trailer shows a character, Dietrich, wielding what seems to be a Crest weapon, although what Crest it belongs to is not yet confirmed.

I wonder if new Crests or Heroes' Relics will have been developed or discovered in the time between the two games. Are Crests more common or rarer? Have they spread outside the nobility, or are they still limited to primarily high-ranking families? Is there a way for people to have two Crests without it permanently damaging their health? These are just a few of the questions I have about Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave — and I'm sure I'll come up with even more before the game launches.
