Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s side quests, otherwise known as 'Odd Jobs', come in all shapes and sizes. Some are small, low-stakes fetch quests that don’t take long, nor give you much in terms of rewards, but others are significant enough to be unmissable in terms of the gear, Materia, and XP you’ll get, especially if you’re considering a go at hard mode.
There are 26 side quests in total in FF7R, with some, naturally, being better than others. Not all chapters include them, though, as some are fully focused on your main objective against the evil Shinra. Here’s the full list, and what you get for completing each one.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Cut Content Explained
Final Fantasy 7 Remake had a couple of major things cut ahead of its official release, alongside the removal of a few other, more negligible elements.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Full Side Quest List
Side quests are found in the more open hub areas of chapters 3, 8, 9, and 14, and they’re marked in green on your map. However, in some cases, you’ll need to have spoken to a specific NPC or completed a prerequisite quest for them to be activated.
If you’ve completed a chapter and missed one of the following side quests, you are able to go back to them. Once you’ve completed the game, use the Chapter Select option to tick off your unfinished objectives.
Also, when it comes to chapter 9, you'll get different Odd Jobs depending on whether you're on Madam M or Sam's route. Whether you take either route depends on certain dialogue choices, a coin toss, and the type of massage you choose to have.
If you're on Madam M's route, you'll get The Price of Thievery and Shears' Counterattack, but, otherwise, you'll get A Dynamite Body and The Party Never Stops. The quest rewards are the same, with the exception being that you get a Real Calling Card in The Price of Thievery, but not in The Party Never Stops. You can't do anything with the Real Calling Card, but you can look at it by going from 'Inventory' to 'Key Items' in your menu.
