How to Enhance Weapons in Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis

Weapons in Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis are a fundamental part of making every character in the game stronger and more equipped to take on stronger enemies. Unlike most gacha games, which task players with pulling characters from the draw pool, this Final Fantasy PC and mobile game unlocks all available characters from the start, making weapons the primary source of the system. Each Featured Draw requires 300 Blue Crystals for a single weapon pull and 3,000 crystals for a 10-weapon draw. From time to time, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis will throw the player a bone by releasing a free daily draw for a limited time. Players may also purchase Red Crystals through the microtransactions shop, giving everyone the ability to pull as many times as needed to obtain premium weapons and costumes.

Optimization through enhancements further expands on the strengths and sub-stats of each weapon by using materials and money earned by playing single and co-op stages. Each weapon can be raised up to level 90 through increments of ten levels per upgrade, but each level forces the player to use rarer items each time to unlock the next stage. At level 80, players must use Mythril Ore, an extremely hard-to-find material, obtainable only in Crisis Dungeons and Crisis Medal exchange. Players will need to be selective with which weapons they choose to max the level of, as Mythril Ore is limited and requires 30 per weapon. In order to begin the enhancement process, head over to the Enhance tab on the left side of the main menu and begin the process by selecting Weapons, which is conveniently unlocked from the start of the game.

How to Enhance Weapons with Grindstone and Materials

First, players should select the weapon they wish to enhance from the list to the right. Once highlighted, select the Enhance button at the bottom right of the screen, and a prompt will open with all available materials.

Beginning with the leveling-up system, players can choose from their available Grindstone stock as experience for the weapon. This specific material comes in three sizes; two-star Grindstone Shards, three-star Grindstones, and four-star Grindstone Chunks. The higher the star power, the more experience will be given to the selected weapon. Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis makes it easy for the player with its Optimize feature, which calculates the total experience required for all ten levels of the enhancement and suggests the proper amount. Any overspending will amount to a return of the remaining Grindstone in the smallest version.

How to Uncap Weapon Levels

After achieving an increment of ten levels, players will then be required to use an abundance of different materials in order to unlock the next set of ten levels. Different characters require different series of materials at first before moving on to rarer items dropped in special single-player stages. Every level upgrade will cost players more materials and money, starting from ten low-grade materials and 1,000 gil up until 30 Mythril Ore and 48,000 gil. Low-grade, mid-grade, and high-grade materials can be found in the Solo Content section under Weapons Quests, while Genomes and Nanocubes can be farmed here and in Premium Quests. Players should be aware that Premium Quests limit them to three attempts a day, so choose wisely when deciding which ones to grind. Players may also find these items in special events, specifically as rewards from event items.

How to Overboost

When players pull a duplicate five-star weapon of an item, it is exchanged into 200 Parts, which can be used to Overboost a weapon by one stage. Overboosting is a system that enhances weapons beyond its five-star stage, turning one of the five golden stars into a red star, and changing the background of the icon to red. Weapons overboosted five times can then be further boosted to pink stars, which also changes the weapon's background to pink. Each upgrade will cost 200 Parts, making the duplicate pulls something players shouldn't be too upset about, especially when it comes to the sought-after weapons that can break the game's meta.

After overboosting a weapon past five pink stars, it will gain a +1 next to the five stars, but the additional increase to the stats will pale in comparison to the former boosts. While it may take some time to get 30 duplicates of a single weapon, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis launches events from time to time that focus on specific weapons, which players can grind at and earn enough duplicates to boost their weapon to the limit. It will still take some time, as earning enough materials to purchase one copy of the weapon will equate to hours of playtime on one stage, but the result is well worth the effort.
