Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis teamed up with Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise to launch a new crossover event. For a limited time, Cloud Strife and his party will be able to don new Monster Hunter-themed gear in Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis and take on an iconic flagship monster.

Developed by Japanese mobile game studio Applibot in collaboration with Square Enix, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is a free-to-play turn-based RPG for mobile devices and PC that delves into the original Final Fantasy 7 compilation and universe. The game was initially marketed as "another possibility for a remake," as it's a remake that's developed separately from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. The game proved to be a hit among Square Enix fans, with well over 7.77 million downloads worldwide as of February 2024. Since its launch, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis continues to receive major updates and collaborations with other games, including Square Enix's own Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

The Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis and Monster Hunter collaboration will run until July 2, featuring limited-time Monster Hunter gear and weapons for Cloud, Tifa, Zack, and Aerith. The new collaboration gear is available from Draw Stamps, similar to the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover gear. Players can also acquire new rewards by claiming daily login bonuses and completing objectives from the Monster Hunter crossover campaign. These rewards include up to 10,000 Blue Crystals, a guaranteed 5-star weapon voucher for a free 10 draw, and a special gift from the Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis team.

Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis and Monster Hunter Crossover Event is Live

  • The event runs until July 2 at 6:59 p.m. PDT.

After logging in, players may work together to battle the flagship Monster Hunter wyvern Rathalos in the "Rathalos in the Midgar Skies" crossover quest. Rewards from the battle against Rathalos include exchangeable event items that can be traded for the Shinra Wyvern Blade, an exclusive new weapon for Sephiroth. The Monster Hunter-themed long blade should be an excellent weapon for Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis alongside the likes of Radiant Edge.

Moreover, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis players still have time to participate in the Reawakened: Golden Bomb Rush event, which lasts until June 9. Players may earn draw tickets and other valuable rewards by completing Bomb Rush battles and earning exchangeable items that can be traded for the aforementioned rewards. Optimizing a Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis team with the best possible weapons and materia is recommended since Bombs can burst and deal massive damage.

Mako—the discovery of this natural resource drawn directly from the planet’s life force marked the dawn of a new era, and now the energy sustains the lives of people across the world. However, the Shinra Company has monopolized mako production, and in doing so established a powerful hegemony--its influence reaching the far corners of the globe.

Cloud, a former member of Shinra's military organization, SOLDIER, joins the anti-Shinra resistance group AVALANCHE, despite caring little for their motives. During one of the group’s attempts to stop the company, they learn of the return of Sephiroth, Cloud’s nemesis, and that with his reemergence, the planet is in greater danger than anyone had expected.

With the fate of the world riding on their success, Cloud and his allies set out to quell this deadly threat.
