Final Fantasy 14 players have around two weeks to participate in a limited-time dungeon that takes cues from the Overcooked party game series. The new Final Fantasy 14 dungeon is part of the game's annual Valentione's Day event, where players can earn several cosmetic rewards during the festivities.
The new Final Fantasy 14 dungeon arrived at a busy time for Square Enix's hit MMORPG. On January 27, Final Fantasy 14 launched Patch 7.41, which introduced the next chapters in the Cosmic Exploration and Phantom Weapons side quests. The new Cosmic Exploration chapter took players to the planet Oizys, a land filled with ancient ruins and strange gravity fields. Additionally, the new Phantom Weapon quests allow players to upgrade their relics to item level 775 after completing some time-consuming tasks. Patch 7.41 also contained some surprising buffs for the Summoner Job, as their burst damage received some slight adjustments.
The OG Final Fantasy 7 Is Being Delisted on Steam, But It's Going to Be Replaced With a New Version With More Features
Square Enix announces that the 2013 version of Final Fantasy 7 on Steam will soon be delisted and replaced by a new port with additional features.
Final Fantasy 14 Introduces The Patisserie Dungeon
With Patch 7.41 now released, Final Fantasy 14 fans looking for something new to do will have a few days to participate in a new diversion. FF14's annual Valentione's Day event, held at Mih Khetto's Amphitheater in Gridania, is where players can queue up for a new dungeon called the Patisserie. The event runs until Monday, February 16, at 9:59 AM Eastern. Taking inspiration from Overcooked and other multitasking party games, one to four players can enter the Patisserie and assemble some Valentione's Day cakes. Players can queue up for the Patisserie at any time while Valentione's Day is active. Additionally, the Patisserie can be either done solo, with a pre-assembled light party, or by using Final Fantasy 14's matchmaking system to be grouped up with other random players.

Upon entering the Patisserie, Final Fantasy 14 players have 10 minutes to assemble as many Valentione's Day cakes as they can, and must use a list of specific ingredients located throughout the edges of the dungeon. However, malfunctioning robots called mammets will patrol the dungeon and attempt to freeze players. However, the mammets can be either evaded or temporarily disabled using a special whistle action. Players will earn a seasonal currency called Valentione's Chocolates based on the number of cakes completed within the time limit.
After completing the dungeon and turning in the seasonal quest "The Icing on the Cake," Final Fantasy 14 players can spend Valentione's Chocolates on various cosmetic items. This year's new rewards include the Comfy and Cozy Valentione's Day Attire sets, three Orchestrion Rolls that contain the music from the Patisserie, and some thematic Valentione's Day housing items that players can decorate their virtual abodes with. In total, players will need 71 Valentione's Chocolates to get all the new rewards. Last year's Valentione's Day items, including the Bouquet emote, are also available on the FF14 Online Store for players to purchase with real money.

New and Returning Final Fantasy 14 Players Can Also Have Their Cake
The arrival of Valentione's Day comes at a great time for new and returning Final Fantasy 14 players alike. Given that Valentione's Day and other seasonal events only require players to reach level 15 and complete the Sastasha dungeon, Final Fantasy 14 players on the game's generous Free Trial can participate while the event lasts. Additionally, Valentione's Day has some overlap with Final Fantasy 14's ongoing Free Login Campaign. Although the campaign ends on Monday, February 9, players who have an inactive Final Fantasy 14 subscription can return to Eorzea for up to 96 free hours and experience Valentione's Day while they can.
Given that some of the Valentione's Day rewards this year are glamour pieces, Final Fantasy 14 players looking to customize their characters for the season will have some new options available while the festivities last. Whether more activities like the Patisserie dungeon make their way to later seasonal events in Final Fantasy 14 remains to be seen.
