Final Fantasy 14 is an expansive game with a number of activities. Dawntrail, the expansion introduced in patch 7.0 is no different. Players are introduced to six new regions, each with their own MSQ, FATES, Puzzling Sidequests, and Elite Hunt Marks.
Spawning and killing Elite Hunt Marks is a favorite pastime for tax evasion aficionados and Tomestone farmers alike - so it's no surprise that interest in these rare enemies is high. Keep reading to learn where to find all of Dawntrail' s S Rank Hunt Marks, the requirements for spawning them, and why players may not see some of these mobs in the wild just yet.

S Rank Hunt Marks Explained
S Rank Hunt Marks is one of the highest rank marks available in the Hunt (with only SS Marks ranking higher). Each expansion generally has 4-6 S Ranks. To spawn these marks, players need to engage in certain behaviors, which vary for each mark. Doing the correct actions is not a guarantee of a spawn, as there is an element of RNG. Furthermore, each has a minimum and maximum spawn time window, measured from the mob's last death. Attempting to spawn the mark before the minimum time has elapsed will always be unsuccessful, while the chances of a successful spawn go up dramatically once the maximum is reached.
S Ranks are intended to be group content for players who have finished the expansion. Therefore, it is not advisable to attempt soloing marks within 20 levels of your current level. Additionally, once the Rank has been spawned, it is considered polite to leave any S Mark from the last two expansions for a train or Free Company event so that many people can experience this portion of one of Square Enix's most influential games.

Here are all the new Gathering materials in FF14: Dawntrail!
How To Spawn The Forecaster
The Forecaster is found in the final area of Dawntrail, Living Memory. Outside of the generic time window requirement, players must use a specific spell to trigger a spawn. The Forecaster has a chance to spawn when a player casts the Blue Mage Spell Northerlies over a spawn location. Northerlies can be learned from the Yetis of Coertheas Central Highlands.
The Spawn chance per cast is currently unknown, so casting the spell several times in a row for each attempt is suggested.
How To Spawn Atticus The Primogenitor
Atticus the Primogenitor spawns in the Heritage Found region of Dawntrail. The requirement to spawn this S Rank is crafting a high-quality Rroneek Steak while in the region. The steak does not need to be crafted over a spawn location, and doing so at one of the Aetherytes is sufficient.
Rroneek Steak requires the following ingredients:
- 1x Turali Corn Oil
- 1x Mountain Salt
- 1x Rroneek Chuck
- 1x Dragon Pepper
- 2x Yyasulani Garlic
- 1x Night Vinegar
- 8x Fire Crystal
- 8x Water Crystal
Players must be at least level 99 in the Culinarian Job to craft a Rroneek Steak.

How To Spawn Sansheya
Sansheya spawns in the Shaaloani region of Dawntrail, and is easier to trigger than many other S Ranks, but is also more opportunity-dependent. The requirement to spawn Sansheya is the successful completion of the You Are What You Drink FATE.
While the You Are What You Drink FATE may not always be active, players can increase the chances of its appearance by successfully clearing FATES in the zone until it appears. This is called FATE cycling.
How To Spawn Neyoozoteel
Neyoozoteel spawns in the Yak T'el region. It has a chance to spawn each time a player discards a stack of at least fifty Fish Meal while in the proper zone. Fish Meal can be purchased from Housing Vendors, The Material Shop in the Goblet, or Tanie in New Gridania (11.1,11.2). Culinarians of level 5+ can also craft it from Fire Shards and Anchovies.
The entire stack of Fish Meal must be discarded at once to count towards Neyoozoteel's spawn. Discarding the items one by one will meet the spawn requirements.
How to Get FF14 Dawntrail Twitch Drops
Final Fantasy 14 Online is partnering with Twitch to bring fans some new Twitch Drops. Here's how to get them all!
Kirlirger the Abhorrent & Ihnuxokiy
The S Ranks for the Urqopacha and Kozama'uka regions (Kirlirger the Abhorrent and Ihnuxokiy, respectively) are currently not spawnable. These two mobs will be added in patch 7.05, and therefore, the first two regions of Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail currently have no S Rank. Instead, consider filling the time with other important early expansion activities in Dawntrail.
