While there are countless different types of content to explore in Final Fantasy 14, one that continues to be especially popular among players is the Allied Society Questlines (formerly known as "Beast Tribes"). These niches of content not only help expand the lore of areas found throughout the game, but they also provide some enticing rewards for those who participate.
One Allied Society added in Final Fantasy 14's Dawntrail expansion is the Mamool Ja questline. The following guide clarifies all requirements to unlock this questline, how an Allied Society questline works, and the rewards you can look forward to by completing the Mamool Ja questline in Final Fantasy 14.

How to Unlock Mamool Ja Allied Society in Final Fantasy 14
As one might guess, the Mamool Ja Allied Society questline kicks off in Yak T'el, specifically at (X:35.6, Y:32.0) in the lower area of the map around Mamook. There you can speak to Gotoll Ja to pick up the Level 90 'Cultivating Hope' quest for your desired gathering class.
To reiterate, this particular Allied Society (or "Beast Tribe" if you prefer that colloquial term) questline is designated for Disciple of the Land classes only. Disciples of the Hand (crafters) and combat classes will not be able to participate. If you find yourself needing to level a gathering class for this content, the Cosmic Exploration content added in Patch 7.21 is a fantastic way to do so relatively quickly (provided you've completed the Endwalker expansion).
There are a variety of quest prerequisites that you actually need to complete before the quest to unlock the Mamool Ja Allied Society content becomes available in Yak T'el. If you haven't done so already, they include the following:
- 'Aiming High' - Located at Yak T'el (X:13.3, Y:13.4), this quest unlocks an Aether Current for Yak T'el region.
- 'Hunting For the Family' - Talk to Ty'at Roh in Yak T'el at (X:12.3, Y:11.9).
- 'A Hunter's Dream' - Talk to Ty'at Roh in Yak T'el at (X:11.3, Y:14.4).
- 'The Trial Commences' - Talk to Ty'at Roh in Yak T'el at (X:30.9, Y:14.9).
- 'Lost and Powerless' - Located at Yak T'el (Y:32.0, Y:31.3), this quest unlocks an Aether Current for Yak T'el region.
- 'Remembering a Dream' - Talk to Shiidil Ja in Yak T'el at (X:31.7, Y:31.0).
- 'Budding Promise' - Talk to Gotoll Ja in Yak T'el at (X:34.7, Y:32.6).
- 'Skill of a Veteran' - Talk to Gotoll Ja in Yak T'el at (X:34.7, Y:32.6).
- 'One Forest' - Talk to Gotoll Ja in Yak T'el at (X:34.7, Y:32.6).
- 'Dawntrail' - Main Scenario Quest in Living Memory at (X:11.4, Y:4.6).
Once all the aforementioned quests are complete, you can then speak to Gotoll Ja to pick up the 'Cultivating Hope' quest. While the prerequisite quests could all be done with a combat class, this one must be done with a gathering class.
Completing this quest's objectives will officially unlock the Mamool Ja Allied Society questline for your character, and all of its subsequent daily objectives and features.
How to Complete Mamool Ja Allied Society Quests in Final Fantasy 14
The Mamool Ja Allied Society questline is the second questline added in the Dawntrail (7.0) expansion. Similar to previous Allied Society questlines (or "Beast Tribe" questlines as some players still call them), you earn progress by completing up to three daily quests provided by the NPC Kageel Ja at the Gok Golma hub directly south of Mamook at (X:33.2, Y:36.0).
Completion of each of these quests rewards EXP points for your chosen class, gil, Mamool Ja Nanook tokens, and Mamool Ja Relations points. The tokens can be exchanged for a variety of rewards from Veerul Ja, the Gok Golma Vendor. Meanwhile, the Mamool Ja Relations points contribute toward your overall Reputation Rank with the Mamool Ja Allied Society tribe.
As you complete more daily quests and rank up, the Gok Golma hub will expand, and you'll be able to unlock special milestone quests and more exclusive rewards from the vendor.
The ranks you can achieve include:
- Friendly - Automatically unlocked at the start of the questline.
- Trusted - 510 Mamool Ja Relations points required.
- Respected - 720 Mamool Ja Relations points required.
- Honored - 990 Relations points required.
- Sworn - 1320 Relations points required.
- Bloodsworn - 1730 Relations points required; Final Rank.
Even after you achieve the Bloodsworn rank with the Mamool Ja, you can continue to do the daily quests provided by Kageel Ja with any gathering classes as an easy and reliable method to level them up.
All Mamool Ja Allied Society Quest Rewards in Final Fantasy 14
As mentioned previously, the higher you rank up in the Mamool Ja Allied Society questline, the more exclusive rewards you can unlock with Veerul Ja, the Gok Golma Vendor. Each rank will introduce new rewards, which you can purchase by exchanging Mamool Ja Nanook tokens.
While some more basic rewards include gathering materials and crafting materials, others can only be obtained by completing this questline (i.e., they are not purchasable on the Market Board), including a mount and a minion.
All cumulative rewards for this questline and their respective rank unlocks are still being confirmed. However, it has been confirmed that once unlocked, the Branchbearer mount will cost 18 x Mamool Ja Nanook tokens while the Ja Tiika Leafkin minion will cost 8 x Mamool Ja Nanook tokens.
