Final Fantasy 14 maintains some permanent currencies, like the gil many players are interested in farming. Others, however, change when new expansions are released. In Dawntrail, that meant the retirement of certain tomestones and scrips, with the opportunity to exchange them. At the same time, a new type of tomestone was introduced: the Tomestones of Aesthetics.
Upon reaching max level in Dawntrail and completing the main story quests of the expansion, players will start getting Tomestones of Aesthetics as a reward. They work similarly to Final Fantasy 14's previous tomestones, but have a specific location to be exchanged for new items - and you will learn all about it here!
Final Fantasy 14: Best In Slot Dawntrail Gear For Every Ranged DPS
Final Fantasy 14 players want to know which gear is Best in Slot in Dawntrail's new raids. Find the verdict for Bard, Dancer, and Machinist here.
FF14 Tomestones of Aesthetics Vendor Location
Once the player reaches level 100, Tomestones of Aesthetics will be rewarded from max level dungeons, trials, or raids. Duty roulettes, completing the Wondrous Tails objectives, participating in PvP and exploring Deep Dungeons, completing Allied Society quests, and activities such as The Hunt can also be used to acquire Tomestones. 2,000 is the maximum limit of Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics players can carry at a time.
Those who already have this type of currency can spend it in Solution Nine, the city that is Dawntrail's endgame hub. While players will only have access to the city later in the game, that is not a problem, considering the Tomestones of Aesthetics can only be used by players who have completed the level 100 MSQ "Dawntrail", by which point this new location will already be available.
After going to Solution Nine, head to the Commerce Sector area of the city (you can use the aethernet and travel to the Nexus Arcade point, which will leave you closer to your destination). The Tomestone Exchange NPC is a Duskwight Elezen called Zircon (X: 8.6, Y: 13.5). He will be at the center of the room alongside two other vendors, so it is quite simple to spot him, though the map and the picture above show you exactly what to look for.
Interact with him to see his available selection of products, which consists of the Neo Kingdom gear and weapons, an endgame type of gear with average item level of 700 - superior to the 690 item level of Dawntrail's artifact gear. Collecting all the pieces of equipment will demand more than the 2,000 Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics the player can carry, however, so it won't be possible to buy every necessary piece of gear at once.
