Since around mid-April, Final Fantasy 14 players who have stopped their subscription can hop in to play for free until the next expansion, Dawntrail, releases. The Free Login Campaign traditionally happens before the release of each expansion. The developer offers a way for former players to catch up with the new content released over previous updates.
Dawntrail's release is just around the corner (July 2), and events have started with activities to complete for rewards. Returning players can enjoy the Free Login Campaign and complete the Fall Guys collaboration event, as well as the annual Yo-kai Watch event.
Final Fantasy 14: Why You Should Play PvP Ahead Of Dawntrail
There are some rewards Final Fantasy 14 players don't want to miss before Dawntrail releases.
How To Activate Final Fantasy 14's Free Login Campaign
There are essential requirements to be eligible for the Free Login Campaign, because it's only made for players who stopped coming to the game a while ago. Players need to have an account that they already used to subscribe to FF14 but stopped their subscription for over 30 days before trying to log in.
Once these requirements are met, players don't need to complete any extra step to activate the Free Login Campaign: they can log in and play as usual and will see the game's content unlocked as if they had renewed their subscription.
This free experience won't last long, however. While the free login event offer will last until June 20, players will only be able to play for free for four days. It means that their account will be locked when the clock reaches midnight on the fourth day of playing for free, and they'll have to subscribe to Final Fantasy 14 again to keep playing. It's recommended to start it when players have enough free time ahead of them to get the best out of the experience.
During the free login event, players can complete several events. To encourage players enjoying full access to the game with this campaign, a sale is available ahead of Dawntrail' s release. Fans can buy the Final Fantasy 14 Complete Edition and Endwalker Editions for 60% off. It might be too late for them to catch up to the full content before the next expansion, since it'll take over 40 hours to complete Endwalker's Main Scenario Quests, but for anyone interested in checking out some missed content, now's a great time.
