Final Fantasy 14's Dawntrail expansion includes a host of new content - including new items for sale from Bicolor Gems Vendors in the Dawntrail Regions, such as mounts, minions, and Framing Kits. While Bicolor Gems are not a new currency in Final Fantasy 14, there have been changes to how players can unlock and earn them in this expansion.
Keep reading for tips on how to reach the maximum Shared FATE rank in each zone, how to check progress towards each rank, where to find each Bicolor Gemstone merchant, and what items are for sale. If players need help deciding which of the vendors' many wares to prioritize, see below for tips on the best items to purchase.
Final Fantasy 14: How to Spawn S Rank Hunts in Dawntrail
Elite Hunt Mark trains are a favorite pastime of many in Final Fantasy 14. Learn how to spawn the Dawntrail S Rank Marks here.
The Dawntrail Shared FATE System
Similarly to the Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions, Dawntrail uses the Shared FATE system and its Bicolor Gemstones for item trading. However, unlike other expansions, Dawntrail has 4 ranks for each merchant to unlock.
How To Earn Max Rank For Every Bicolor Gemstone Trader in Dawntrail
Players will need to do a minimum number of FATES in each zone to increase their rank with the relevant trader. Once all zones have been increased to Rank 4, the traders in Solution Nine and Tuliyollal will unlock. To check their current progress, players can open the Shared FATES Log under the Travel Menu and then navigate to the last page.

While it may be tempting to dive into FATE farming straight away, it is much more efficient to unlock flying in the zone first so players can reach FATEs quickly.
All Bicolor Gemstone Traders In Dawntrail
Each region has a Bicolor Gemstone Trader, each with unique wares. These merchants are visible on the map as the Bicolor Gemstone Icon.

Best Things To Buy With Bicolor Gemstones In Dawntrail
The best things to buy with Bicolor Gemstones in the Dawntrail expansion are the Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers. Once players get 500 of these, they can be redeemed with Edelina in Mor Dhona for the Ty'aitya mount.
After this, the best purchases will likely be the exclusive minions, Trading Cards, Framing Kits, and Orchestration Rolls. This is because many of these items are not obtainable by other means. Some of the highlights include:
- Neon Parasol
- The Dark Solution Framer's Kit
- The Bright Solution Framer's Kit
- The Golden Dawn Framer's Kit
- The Crimson Dawn Framer's Kit
- The Ilyikty'i Minion
- The Alpaca Cria Minion
Failing all else, Bicolor Gemstones are also a great source of Glamour Prisms and Glamour Dispellers at various Shadowbringer Bicolor Gemstone Merchants. Players can also buy Dawntrail Crafting Materials and mob drops. These can be used for Building Glamours or sold on the Market Board for extra Gil.
