Final Fantasy 14 players will soon to be able to explore the warm lands, cold mountains, bright cities, and more with the release of the Dawntrail expansion. It comes roughly two years after the previous one, Endwalker, which put FF14's first narrative arc to an end a decade after it started. Fans will also discover new job actions from level 90 to 100, as well as the Pictomancer and Viper jobs.
As usual, there are two different dates players will be able to discover Dawntrail. The expansion will release in Early Access a few days before the full release, when servers will be overloaded with new and returning players. Here are the precise dates and times of both releases.
Dawntrail Early Access Date & Time
- June 28, 2 am PDT
FF14 players will get access to Dawntrail a few days ahead of others if they have pre-ordered the expansion. The servers are set to open after a long maintenance on June 28, at 2am PDT. The developer might encounter unforeseen issues that could delay that opening hour, though. Square Enix will keep the community updated through social media and official FF14 websites, so it's recommended to stay up to date with the latest communication around that time.
Preodering Dawntrail costs $39.99 at the official Square Enix shop. It requires players to own the base version of FF14, as well as an active online subscription to get access to the content. Players will obtain various bonuses from this option, in addition to Early Access. These include a 30% XP boost, a Zidane minion, and Azyma's Earrings, which will offer the XP boost up to level 90 when equipped. It won't help players go from level 90 to the new Dawntrail cap of 100, however.
Players who preorder the digital Collector's Edition will get these advantages, as well as an Ark mount, a Wind-up Garnet minion, and a Chocobo Brush.

Dawntrail Full Release Date & Time
- July 2, 2am PDT
The next expansion will officially be released on July 2. The server opening might also be planned for 2am PDT, although a delay couldhappen. Similarly to Early Access, theSquare Enix will inform players of disruptions through social media and official websites.
There are high chances of server overload on the release date, as well as on high-activity hours for at least two weeks following the release. Players should be prepared to wait in long lines before entering the servers during that busy time.
Following the official release of Dawntrail, Square Enix will take a break before introducing more content to the game. After some time, though, more updates will bring post-scenario missions and highly expected features to keep players engaged while the developer works on the second FF14 expansion of the new narrative arc.
