In Patch 7.2, Final Fantasy 14 lets players summon mounts while moving in any content where the fast travel system is allowed. This small but impactful quality-of-life improvement will arrive in Final Fantasy 14 with the major content update on March 25.
Recently, Final Fantasy 14 held its second Letter from the Producer LIVE for Patch 7.2, Seekers of Eternity. The major content update for the Dawntrail expansion will include brand-new Main Scenario quests and the second part of the Arcadion raid, with Cosmic Exploration, the Occult Crescent, Hildibrand quests, and more coming in the months following.
PSA: Final Fantasy 14 Event Has An Odd Mistranslation
Final Fantasy 14 players point out that an ongoing event has a strange mistranslation that may confuse others trying to complete an objective.
However, there is one lesser-known quality-of-life feature coming in Patch 7.2 that will make moving around the world much more convenient. During the Live Letter, Final Fantasy 14 director and producer Naoki Yoshida revealed that fans would be able to summon their mounts while moving in the new update. He also confirmed this change will apply to both PvP and PvE content in any place where mounts can already be used.
Mount While Moving in Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2
Calling one’s mount in Final Fantasy 14 only takes 1 second – but previously, moving during the cast time would cancel the process unless timed perfectly near the end of the bar. That said, after Patch 7.2, players can not only move while summoning their mounts but also start the process without even stopping. Yoshida recognized that fans will likely have 10 years of muscle memory to overwrite when it comes to using this new Final Fantasy 14 feature, but hopes players enjoy it all the same.
That isn’t the only quality-of-life feature coming in Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2 that will help fans get around. Once the update arrives, players will automatically get a Jog buff that provides a smaller speed boost after Sprint expires. Jogging appears to not have a duration and can seemingly be used anywhere, including cities, zones, and instances, though it is automatically removed during combat. Fans will have to wait until the patch notes are released in the days before the update to learn the specifics of how this new gameplay feature will work.
These quality-of-life improvements are all arriving alongside Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2 on March 25. Players can expect a 24-hour maintenance period ahead of the major update, so Final Fantasy 14 fans who need to finish the Moogle Treasure Trove event, claim any PvP rewards, or complete any other last-minute tasks from the last update should be sure to plan accordingly.
