Square Enix’s popular MMORPG title, Final Fantasy 14, features many cosmetic and appearance options. Players can customize their Warrior of Light to their liking and showcase their individuality. This includes Final Fantasy’ s ever-expanding mount collection.
Final Fantasy 14 boasts over 200 mounts for players to collect. Some of these mounts involve increasing reputations with certain Beast Tribes. Some require players to pour hours of their life and soul into the game and complete difficult duty raids, to eventually feel the taste of success and achieve their mount.
There’s a mount to suit every player – from floating king-sized beds to celestial dragons; FF14 has every base covered.
14 Laurel Gobbue
There are no thoughts behind those soulless eyes. The Laurel Gobbue is one of the easier mounts to obtain, with players having to reach reputation level 7 with the Sylph beast tribe by doing daily quests.
The gobbue mount can then be purchased for 120,000 gil from the Sylphic Vendor in East Shroud. With their delicate flower crowns, they give off all the cutest Studio-Ghibli vibes.
13 Magicked Bed
Who doesn’t want to nap while on the grind?
The Magicked Bed is an easily obtainable mount; it can be crafted by carpenters or bought through the marketplace.
12 Fatter Cat
The Fatter Cat mount isn’t exactly rare; it can be purchased online through the MogStation with real-life money. Micro-transactions are frowned upon in most MMOs as cheating. But who could say no to those chubby cheeks?
Coupled with the fat cat minion, players can become unstoppable with their own cat army.
11 Hybodus
To unlock this fearsome mount, players must get the achievement 'No More Fish In The Sea II.' This can be completed by achieving a minimum of 10,000 fishing points in one ocean fishing voyage.
The hybodus shark can soar through the skies and delve into the ocean depths.
10 Disembodied Head
This creepy mount can be purchased for 10 Gelmorran Potsherd from E-Una-Kotor in South Shroud.
Gelmorran Potsherd are found inside 'The Palace of the Dead' raid. The main method of obtaining them is to repeatedly clear Floor 50. The Bronze Coffer Chests in Palace of the Dead also have a low random drop chance for them. The grind is on for this mount.
9 Cloud Mallow
Based on dandelion seeds, this big fluffy ball looks so comfy players could sleep on it.
The Cloud Mallow mount can be purchased for 200,000 gil once rank 7 (Sworn) reputation has been reached with the Moogle Beast Tribe.
8 Parade Chocobo
Ever wanted a personal fanfare music? With the Parade Chocobo mount, that is now possible. March music plays as this chubby chocobo desperately tries to catch the food hanging over its head. This golden bird wears a golden crown atop its head, only suitable for Final Fantasy royalty. The only downside is that this chocobo can’t fly.
The only requirement for this mount is 3,000 player duty commendations. Better get duty queuing.
7 Cerberus
A mythical beast of legend. Cerberus is a three-headed dog hellhound mount and is a multi-seater. After unlocking the 'Delubrum Reginae' duty, players must clear it at ‘Savage’ difficulty to obtain this mount. A full raid team of 48 players is required, along with Resistance Rank 15, and 700,000 Mettle. This is just to enter the raid.
Completing this raid awards players with the Achievement 'Savage Queen of Swords I.' Talking to Jonathas in Old Gridania will give players the Cerberus Horn summon item.
6 Gwiber of Light
This glowing mount is awarded as a random drop upon completing 'The Seat of Sacrifice' (Extreme) duty.
Gwiber of Light can also be purchased from Falthrard in the Eulmore region for 99 Totems of Light.
5 Regalia Type-G
Most mounts in Final Fantasy 14 are single-seaters, designed for the lone adventurer. However, with the Regalia Type-G, players can hitch a ride with up to three other players.
This snazzy convertible also deserves a spot on this list because of its rarity, as it is not currently obtainable. It is a status symbol for sure.
