With the release of Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail less than three months out, Square Enix revealed a detailed schedule of what fans can expect during the ninth annual 14-hour broadcast on April 12 and 13. In addition to more details about the highly-anticipated expansion, the Final Fantasy 14 development team will take a look at some player creations and the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 Tabletop RPG.
First revealed in March, the ninth annual 14-hour broadcast for Final Fantasy 14 will be led by game director and producer Naoki Yoshida. The broadcast will start with a brief introductory segment in which Yoshida will bring out various members of the development team to offer a few words. This year's edition of the 14-hour broadcast will also serve as the capstone to Final Fantasy 14's 10th anniversary celebration since its relaunch. With the anniversary concluding, all eyes will turn to the upcoming Dawntrail expansion, which will enter early access starting on June 28. The expansion's full release will land on July 2, and pre-orders for Dawntrail will give players the ability to play during early access.
However, the ninth annual 14-hour broadcast will include plenty of content for Final Fantasy 14 players to look at. According to Square Enix, the 14-hour broadcast schedule will include seven segments during its entirety, with breaks in between each. All segments can also be co-streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Following the 30-minute introductory segment starting at 11:00 PM Eastern, the 80th Letter from the Producer Live will start at Midnight Eastern, and conclude around 2:30 AM Eastern. The Live Letter is expected to cover more details about Dawntrail that were not talked about during the March 2024 PAX East panel. Following the Live Letter, other segments on the schedule include one dedicated to pet pictures from Final Fantasy 14 players, a retrospective talk with the Primals band, and a look at player housing with Yoshida.

At the same time as the Live Letter and other segments, a second broadcast feed will run from 11:30 PM to 10:00 AM Eastern and will feature a live demonstration of the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 Tabletop RPG. First revealed in September 2023, the Final Fantasy 14 TTRPG Starter Set will be released in May, but pre-orders are still being taken on the Square Enix Store starting at $60.
With Final Fantasy 14 looking toward the next decade of service following Endwalker, the 14-hour broadcast is a bookend to a major chapter of the game's development. It remains to be seen how Dawntrail will be received upon release.
