There are always various new rewards to look forward to in each major update of Final Fantasy XIV, whether it's mounts, minions, emotes, or the latest fashionable glamour. Of course, any Warrior of Light worth their salt knows that glamour is one of the game's most in-demand pastimes, and knowing how to collect the most sought-after looks is also a priority.
For players seeking the slick Bouncer's Holster outfit in Final Fantasy XIV, or even just certain pieces of it, a key item required for crafting it is the Flexible Leather Band. If you want to create this look for your character, then you'll need to know where to find this rare material.
How to Obtain Flexible Leather Band in FFXIV
The Flexible Leather Band is a unique and rare crafting material that's used specifically for crafting two Level 1 glamour outfits released with the game's Patch 7.2 update. These outfits are the Bouncer's Attire outfit and the Bouncer's Holster Attire outfit, essentially two cosmetic variants of the same look. The latter variant has since proven to be the more popular of the two, with its additional features that evoke more of a "secret agent" vibe.
Aside from the universal Market Board itself, the only way to get the Flexible Leather Band is via treasure rewards found inside Cenote Ja Ja Gural, which is a Level 100 treasure dungeon introduced in the Dawntrail expansion.
You will need Timeworn Br'axxskin Treasure Maps to spawn and access the portal that takes you to the dungeon. Those can be bought on the Market Board, harvested in Dawntrail regions with gathering classes (Level 100 preferably), or obtained via your weekly Wondrous Tails journal from Khloe Aliapoh in Idyllshire (X:5.7, 6.1).
The further you progress through the dungeon (which largely comes down to chance rather than skill), the better your chance of rare loot such as Flexible Leather Bands. It's also a great opportunity to go for items like Figmental Weapon Coffers, which grant special weapon glamours for any combat class you wish.
If you're looking to craft the entire Bouncer's (Holster) outfit, or have it made for you, be aware that you'll need at least 4 x Flexible Leather Bands, one for each piece of the outfit.
How to Use Flexible Leather Band in FFXIV
As mentioned previously, the Flexible Leather Band is used to craft either the Bouncer's Attire outfit or the Bouncer's Holster Attire outfit. If you want to craft it yourself, first you'll need both Weaver and Leatherworker at Level 100, as both are used to craft different pieces of the outfit.
You will also need the Master Weaver XI and Master Leatherworker XI recipe tomes (as seen above), which you can obtain from the Scrip Exchange (X:9.1, Y:13.2) at the Nexus Arcade in Solution Nine. You will need 400 x Purple Crafting Scrips for each recipe tome. It's also highly recommended to equip your character with the best crafting gear available, which you can also get from the Scrip Exchange by trading Orange Crafting Scrips. This will improve your chances of successfully crafting your desired items without mistakes or lack of sufficient CP points.
Once you have all of that squared away and both necessary crafting jobs leveled, you'll then need to gather all the required materials for either outfit.
