Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse's eighth phase returns to Misaki Aso's investigation of Rogetsu Hall, and there are a variety of documents, Ghost List entries, and Hozuki Doll photographs that players can secure as they work through it. While it is not requisite that fans collect every one of these items, players that are going for 100% completion should do their best to not miss anything. This Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse walkthrough is here to assist with that endeavor, and it will make it easy for fans to find every collectible in Chapter 8.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse - Chapter 8 Walkthrough

Phase 8 of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse opens in Room 310, and players should begin by interacting with the radio in the back. Fans of survival horror games should then collect Misaki with Girl in Black and Misaki Aso Treatment Notes from the dresser just past the radio, head toward the room's exit, and photograph the Girl in Black Leaving Room. Before following this ghost, players should collect some Blue Spirit Stones from the rack to the left of the door.

Fans should now make a quick stop by the Gallery in order to collect some Blue Spirit Stones from a stool that is pushed against a wall. Players can then use Room 309 to return to the 3F Patient Room Corridor and visit Room 308. There are some Red Spirit Stones on the stool in front of the piano in this room, and fans can collect them before using the 3F Patient Room Corridor to travel to the 3F Control Room.

Upon entering the Control Room, players should pick up some Blue Spirit Stones from the ground near a fire extinguisher and then advance into the 3F Lift Lobby. While fans of Fatal Frame games will ultimately interact with the lift in this room, they may want to make a detour to the 3F Special Treatment Room Corridor first, as there are some Blue Spirit Stones in a corner of that hallway.

After interacting with the lift in the 3F Lift Lobby, players should photograph the Girl Standing in Lift, examine the control panel inside, and travel to Floor 4. A ghost battle will occur as soon as fans leave the lift and enter the 4F Lift Lobby, and making this wraith blossom will award an additional Ghost List entry. There is also a Hozuki Doll on a chandelier in this room, which players should photograph before advancing to the 4F Nurse Station.

In this room, players should collect some Scared Water from the top of a stretcher and then examine the object on the desk to make the phone ring. Fans of games with haunted houses should then answer the phone and interact with the object on the desk again to receive 4F Isolation Room Report (2) and 4F Room Assignment. Players can then enter the section of room that is beyond the wall with windows, pickup the 4F Isolation Room Report (1) from the counter, and photograph the Girl Operating Control Panel when she appears.

As players walk toward the aforementioned Control Panel, they should collect some Red Spirit Stones from the counter. Fans must then examine the panel, photograph it, and enter the Echoed Code into the device. Players are then free to approach the closed door within the room, which will trigger a short cutscene.

Once that scene concludes, players should enter the 4F Isolation Room Corridor and photograph Misaki and Girl in Corridor. Fans should then collect the 4F Isolation Room Report (3) from the table that is ahead, turn around and look upward, and photograph a Hozuki Doll. Players can then continue down the hallway, photograph the Nurse Blocking Door, and defeat this hostile ghost in Fatal Frame to gain access to her door.

That door leads to the 4F Isolation Room Entrance, and fans should photograph Misaki and Girl Opening Door within it. Players should also make sure to photograph a Hozuki Doll that is peeking through a hole in the ceiling and grab Haibara's Assistant's Notes (3) from a table. With those collectibles addressed, players should interact with the closed door in the room to trigger a cutscene and photograph the Woman Holding Doll when it ends.

Room 412 is the next point of interest, and players will find Sakuya's Diary (1) on a bed, Haibara's Assistant's Notes (5) on a desk, and Sakuya's Diary (2) on a table with a cracked photograph. Interacting with the last of those documents will cause Young Misaki Looking at Moon to appear, and fans of the Fatal Frame franchise should photograph her before navigating to the shelves filled with dolls. Players should now interact with the box on those shelves and then head into the atrium that is connected to the room.

In the atrium, fans will find Misaki's Diary and the Engraved Wooden Tile on the ground. There are also some Blue Spirit Stones on a windowsill, and players should turn slightly right after collecting them. Fans should now be looking at a Hozuki Doll peering through the window, which should be photographed before returning to the box amidst the dolls.

Players must now solve a sliding puzzle in order to open the box and receive Sakuya's Diary (3). Unfortunately, it is not possible to reset the tiles on this box, which it makes difficult to provide a simple solution to the puzzle. That said, fans of games with female protagonists that exercise patience and work to get the tiles in numerical order will eventually find success.

With the sliding puzzle resolved, players should walk toward the bed and photograph the Girl in Blacking Staring at Misaki. Approaching this ghost will trigger a cutscene, and fans should photograph the Patient About to Jump Off Roof when it ends. Players can then approach and examine this ghost and collect the Woman's Suicide Note from the ground.

After picking up that document, players should turn around and photograph a Hozuki Doll that is on the ground to the right of the benches. Fans of photography games can also collect Hear, which is on the ground between the two benches, and some Red Spirit Stones that are in the fence at the northeast corner.

Players can now proceed into the 3F Storage Room and photograph a Hozuki Doll that is on the ground to the right of the door leading to the Roof Stairs. Fans can then use those stairs to travel down to the Washroom Corridor, and they should enter the small room on the left when they reach the bottom. Here, players can photograph a Hozuki Doll in the back corner and collect some Blue Spirit Stones from a cage before heading to Ward No. 2.

There is Hozuki Doll in the wall near a wheelchair in this room, as well as Patient's Notes under a bed. With those items addressed, players can enter the Patient Lounge, photograph the Man Standing in Front of Room, and use the door that the ghost was standing in front of to enter Ward No. 1.

In this room, fans of Japanese horror will find a Hozuki Doll on a bed in the bottom-left corner, and the Fragment of Unsent Letter is on that very same bed. After collecting that document, players should approach the exit to trigger a ghost battle, and again there is an additional entry for making the wraith blossom.

With the wraith defeated, fans should return to the Patient Lounge, continue down the hallway, and photograph the Director Beckoning Misaki. Players should then enter the small waiting room on the left and photograph the Hozuki Doll in a trash can before proceeding into Entrance Hall 2F.

Upon entering this room, fans of spooky games should photograph the Director Descending Stairs, collect some Blue Spirit Stones from the top-left corner, and begin descending the stairs. As fans near the bottom, they should photograph the Director Going to Exam Room and then pass through Entrance Hall 1F to reach the Front Hall.

Here, fans should point the Camera Obscura at the eaves that overhang the entrance to the building in order to photograph Woman Who Fell, a hidden ghost. Players should then photograph a Hozuki Doll above the well to their left and grab some Red Spirit Stones that are on the ground near the gate before returning to Entrance Hall 1F.

At this point, players that are in need of Blue Spirit Stones could travel to the Operating Room Corridor, where some number of that item can be found on a table. There are also some Blue Spirit Stones to the left of the structure with the incinerator beyond the Back Door, though fans of action horror games may not want to take the time to make that trip.

Players should now set their sights on the Medical File Room, which can be accessed by passing through Entrance Hall 1F, the Exam Room Corridor, and the Exam Room. Here, fans of scary games should photograph the Director Entering Door, follow him into the Director's Office Corridor, and then photograph the Director Entering Office. While players will ultimately enter that office, they are first advised to descend the stairs at the end of the hallway to address two items.

The first of those items are some Blue Spirit Stones, which are on the ground at the bottom of the aforementioned stairs. The other item is a hidden ghost photograph that is taken in the Isolation Cell Corridor. More specifically, players should enter that room, go right, and photograph the wall on the left to reveal the Hanged Woman.

It is now time to enter the Director's Office, and fans should photograph the windows in the corner to the left of the entrance to reveal Eyes Looking in Window. Players should then collect some Blue Spirit Stones from the desk and the Medical File: Misaki Aso (2) from the table before interacting with the intercom that makes it possible to move a cabinet in the room. There are stairs beyond that cabinet, and fans of horror game remakes should photograph Director Haibara and Misaki as they approach the bottom.

Players are now in the Laboratory, and there is ghost battle waiting for them. Once again, fans can get an additional Ghost List entry by making this wraith blossom, and there are two items in the room that players should collect when the ghost has been defeated. Those items are Medical File: Misaki Aso (3), which is on a bed and will cause the Girl Watching Misaki to appear, and the Zero Lens, which is on the ground.

Fans should now descend into the Old Underground Passage, photograph the Girl Heading Underground, and follow her into Moonglow Cavern. Here, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse players should photograph Misaki Being Led and engage in a ghost battle. As soon as the wraiths have been dispatched, fans can grab some Type-14 Film from a nearby crate and interact with the shrine to obtain "Legend of the Moonglow Hall" and initiate a cutscene.

When that scene ends, players should photograph the Girl Heading Somewhere and follow her through the door ahead. Beyond that door, fans of Wii games will have yet another ghost battle, which marks the end of Phase 8.
