Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse's Phase 6 sees Ruka continue her exploration of Rogetsu Hall. While players will have a fairly-solid grasp of the location's layout by this point in the game, there are still opportunities to get stuck in this chapter. This walkthrough is here to assist players that find themselves in that situation, and it will also detail the positions of all the Hozuki Dolls, Ghost List entries, and files in Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse's Phase 6.
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse - Chapter 6 Walkthrough
Upon taking control of Ruka, players should interact with the door to Room 308 and then photograph it to reveal an image of Five Maidens. Fans of survival horror games should then walk toward the Gallery, photographing the Man Heading Toward Gallery along the way.
In the Gallery, players should photograph a Hozuki Doll that is tucked behind the painting that is propped against the wall. Fans should then grab some Blue Spirit Stones that are in a corner and photograph the painting that is next to that item to reveal Smudged Faces. This photographing will cause the "Silent Moon" Key to fall to the ground below the painting, and players should pick it up.
Fans of video games with haunted houses can now interact with the door that leads to the 3F Patient Room Corridor to make a ghost appear. This ghost will lead players to Room 309, and they should be ready to photograph the Man Painting on Floor as soon as they open the door.
After making that photograph, players should enter Room 309 and collect Yuko Magaki's Painting Notes (1) from the table to the right. Fans should then pick up some Blue Spirit Stones that are on the ground behind an easel, pass through the nearby curtain, and photograph a Hozuki Doll that is on the ground near the tub. Players can then return to the other side of the curtain and photograph the Crawling Man before using the 3F Patient Room Corridor to reach Room 308.
In Room 308, players will find Patient Interview: Ruka Yomotsuki in a cabinet on the left. Fans of Fatal Frame games will also have the opportunity to photograph the Girl Playing Piano, and they should approach the bed when that is done. There is a Hozuki Doll on the ground between the bed and the windows, and fans can turn around to grab some Red Spirit Stones after it has been photographed.
With those items addressed, players should interact with the bed and collect Ruka's Diary (1), which is placed near the pillow. Fans can then walk toward the room's exit to cause a music box to start playing. This music box is situated within a cabinet in the room, and players should interact with and photograph it to reveal an image of a Cradle.
Room 310 is the next point of interest, and fans of games with female protagonists will find some Blue Spirit Stones on the ground near the bed. Once those upgrade items have been collected, players should move to the back of the room and interact with the radio on the dresser. Players should then return to the front of the room, collect the Small Cog from the Cradle next to the bed, and attempt to exit to trigger a ghost battle.
As soon as this Fatal Frame hostile ghost has been dispatched, players should return to Room 308 and insert the Small Cog into the music box. Fans must then adjust the cogs within the music box so that they are all connected, and the image that is above shows one possible solution. Once the music box is working, players should interact with the nearby piano and complete the mini-game to trigger a cutscene.
After this cutscene concludes, fans of photography games can find Ruka's Diary (2) on the table next to the bed and then exit the room. Players will now find themselves in the Corridor, and they should move around the corner that is ahead, open the first door on the left, and photograph Sayaka Looking at Courtyard.
Fans are now free to enter Sayaka's Room, and they will find Sayaka's Diary (1) on a cushion on the ground. Sayaka's Diary (2) is also in this room, and players can grab it from the bed before exiting the room, following the Corridor down a flight of stairs, and entering a second room that is just beyond another corner.
This is the Altar Room, and it is connected to the Room Overlooking Courtyard. In the second of these rooms, players can photograph the Girl Looking at Moon and interact with the Photo of Man and Masks on the table initiate a cutscene.
Players will find themselves back in Room 308 when this cutscene finishes, and they should walk toward the exit to prompt Sayaka Sitting in Chair to appear. After making a photograph of this ghost, fans of action horror games should head toward her position to collect Small Key with Blossom Design from the ground. Ruka will recover some books while she is collecting this key, and players will find Ruka's Diary (3) among them. Once that file has been secured, fans should interact with the mask on the bed and then leave the room.
Players are now in the 3F Patient Room Corridor, and they should go left to get a photograph of the Patient Hanging Head in the window. There are some Red Spirit Stones in the corner near this window, which fans can collect before making their way to the 3F Control Room.
Here, players should grab the Nurse's Notes from the counter near the entrance and then photograph the Nurse Standing in Station. Fans can then enter the station in which the Fatal Frame nurse was standing and collect Sayaka's Diary (3) and some Blue Spirit Stones from the shelves.
Players should now set their sights on the 3F Lift Lobby, where they are to use the lift to travel to 1F. Notably, there are some Red Spirit Stones in the 3F Special Treatment Room Entrance, which fans of Wii games may want to grab before taking this trip in the elevator.
When players reach the 1F Lift Lobby, they should exit the lift and quickly run through the door on the left to avoid the ghost that appears. When the color returns, fans of the Fatal Frame franchise are safe to reenter the 1F Lift Lobby, and they will find some Red Spirit Stones in the back-right corner. Players can then interact with the large double doors in the hallway and photograph them to reveal an image of a Hole in the Floor.
Fans should now enter the Closet, descend the stairs, photograph the Wandering Woman, and enter the Switchboard Room. It is in this room that players will find the Hole in the Floor, and they should interact with it to obtain the Iron Key. Fans should then quickly photograph the Nurse on Watch Duty and interact with the desk at which she was sitting to trigger a ghost battle.
Once that Wraith has been defeated, players can find the On-Duty Nurse's Notes on the desk and the Blow Lens on the ground next to it. Fans can then enter the Path of Purification and approach the door at the bottom of the stairs to initiate a ghost battle that ultimately awards the Takahisa Kozuki Ghost List entry. Notably, this battle can prove to be a bit difficult, and players may want to visit a Fatal Frame Save Point and stock up on Herbal Medicine before attempting it.
After beating Kozuki, players can make their way back to the large double doors that are accessed via the 1F Lift Lobby. Notably, this is a good time for fans of horror game remakes to get a photograph of a hidden ghost in the Courtyard's pool, though that is not possible during a first playthrough.
Beyond the double doors, players will find the Exhibition Corridor, and there are some Red Spirit Stones in the glass case near the entrance. As fans of spooky games descend the stairs in this room, they will initiate a ghost battle, and they can earn a Ghost List entry by allowing the Wraith with the cage on its head to blossom. To make this ghost blossom, players should focus on getting it to low health without defeating it.
With the battle ended, players should continue through the corridor and photograph a Hozuki Doll that is in a tree outside. Fans can then use the door ahead to reach the Entrance Hall 2F and pass through the first door on the left to enter the Doctor's Office. The Old General Ward is just beyond that room, and players can interact with an object on the bed two times to trigger a short cutscene and receive Sacred Water.
Once that item has been collected, players can return to the Doctor's Office, allow the door to close, and then reenter the Old General Ward. It is now possible for a ghost battle to occur in this room, and fans of Japanese horror can receive a Ghost List entry by allowing the Wraith to blossom.
Players can now return to the Entrance Hall 2F and interact with the lift that is across from the Doctor's Office. When the lift opens, fans should enter, photograph the Woman Sitting in Lift, and select the bottom button on the control panel. As the elevator descends, players should aim the Camera Obscura through the door to get a photograph of the Man Waiting for Lift.
When the lift comes to a stop, fans of scary games are free to exit and follow the path ahead in order to complete Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse's Phase 6. That said, there are a few remaining items that players may want to pick up before finishing the chapter. Here are details on how to reach those items:
- Use the lift to go to B1. There are Blue Spirit Stones on a stretcher.
- Use the lift to go to F1. There are Blue Spirit Stones on a shelf near the ledge with the phone.
- Go to the Doctor's Office to collect Type-90 Film from the shelf to the left.
To note, players that choose to pursue these items need not backtrack to the lift in order to complete Phase 6. Instead, they can interact with the intercom panel on the desk in the Director's Office. For full clarity, this is the panel that was activated with Fatal Frame's Memo with Code, and fans should pass through the Laboratory, use the small door at the end of the Old Underground Passage, and head left when they reach the other side.
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
