Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse - Chapter 4 Walkthrough
Upon taking control of Ruka, players will find themselves in the Archive, and they should pick up the Note from Madoka (5) on the ground ahead. Fans of survival horror games should then grab some Blue Spirit Stones that are sitting on the tarp to the left and enter the Aso Museum.
In the Museum, players will find some Red Spirit Stones on the couch to the right. Once those items have been collected, fans of Fatal Frame games should open the door to the Corridor and quickly photograph the Nurse Heading to Station.
This Fatal Frame nurse will lead players to the 1F Entrance Hall, and they should approach the stairs and photograph the Nurse Doing Rounds. Fans should then follow this nurse up the stairs to reach the 2F Entrance Hall.
Here, players should walk toward the Control Room, photograph the Nurse Called by Patient, and then enter the Control Room. Fans will encounter the Nurse Using Control Panel upon entry, and they should photograph her. Players should then examine the Control Panel that the nurse was using and switch it off to receive the 2F Nurse's Logbook (3).
Fans of Japanese horror should now interact with the Communications Panel in the Control Room. This action will ultimately initiate a ghost battle, and players will receive the Memo: Musical Therapy after dispatching the foe.
The next point of interest is Madoka's Room (203), which is accessed by way of the 2F Ward Corridor. Notably, there is a hidden ghost that can be photographed in the Corridor, though it is not possible to do so during a first playthrough.
In 203, players will find Madoka's Notebook in a dresser, and they should grab it before returning to the 2F Ward Corridor and visiting Ayako's Room (207). Upon entering this room, players should photograph Ayako Beckoning and then spend some time addressing the following items:
- Mirrorstone on the table.
- Blue Spirit Stones on the floor.
- Medical File: Ayako on the bed.
- Blue Spirit Stones on the table with lantern.
- Hozuki Doll to be photographed on shelf behind screens.
Once these items have been collected or photographed, players should interact with the small door in the room to initiate a ghost battle. After defeating this hostile ghost in Fatal Frame, fans should interact with the small door again to gain passage to the Room with Four-Poster Bed.
There is Hozuki Doll on the rafters near the entrance to this room, which players should take a moment to photograph. Fans of photography games should also collect the Music Score and Black Notebook (1) from the nearby rocking horse and interact with the curtain to get a photo of Ayako in Bed.
Players should now backtrack to the 1F Entrance Hall and enter the Corridor to the left. In this hallway, fans should get a photograph of the Woman in Black Lurking and collect some Red Spirit Stones that are sitting on a cart by the door to the Dining Hall.
The Dining Hall is the next stop, and players should interact with the piano to initiate a simple mini-game and cutscene. When that scene concludes, fans of games with female protagonists should pick up the Blue Spirit Stones that are on a counter near the projector and then make their way to the Lift Lobby.
In the Lift Lobby, players should get a photograph of the Woman in Black Walking and pick up the Letter Dropped by Woman in Black from the ground near the lift. Fans should then enter the lift, interact with its control panel to obtain Information About Lift and the Rogetsu Hall 1F/B1F Guide, and then grab some Red Spirit Stones that are on a couch across from the lift. Players should now go to the left of the stairs, photograph the Woman in Black with Sister, and follow her into the Courtyard Corridor.
As players pass through this hallway, they should photograph the Woman in Black Going to the Courtyard and then grab some Type-61 Film from the mouth of a nearby mask. Fans can then use the door that the Fatal Frame ghost went through to reach the Courtyard.
In the Courtyard, players should photograph the Woman in Wheelchair and then head to the right to find the Slow Lens on the ground. Fans of spooky games should then use the path that leads toward the ghost, though they should not approach her just yet. Instead, players should go to the left to address the following items:
- Red Spirit Stones on the ground by the wall.
- Blue Spirit Stones near a streetlamp.
- Hozuki Doll to be photographed in a window to the left of the pool.
At this point, players are ready to approach the Woman in Wheelchair and initiate a ghost battle. The Cooper Key can be collected from the ground by the pool as soon as this battle concludes, and players should leave the Courtyard, making sure to not come into contact with the ghost that appears, when they have the key in hand.
Fans of games with haunted houses should now set their sights on the Lift Lobby, where they can unlock the Closet door using their Copper Key. Inside the Closet, players will find some Type-61 Film on a shelf and a flight of stairs. There are some shelves on those stairs, and there is a Hozuki Doll to be photographed on those shelves.
Once players reach the bottom of the stairs, they should take a right and enter the Water Storage Room. Here, fans of horror game remakes will find some Sacred Water on a shelf and a Hozuki Doll to be photographed beneath the floor grate.
With this those items addressed, players should leave the Water Storage Room and head to the door on the other side of the hallway. This door leads to the Switchboard Room, and there are several items within it:
- Type-14 Film on shelf.
- On-Duty Nurse's Memo on table.
- Blue Spirit Stones in corner.
- Hozuki Doll to be photographed on pipe above Blue Spirit Stones.
Fans should now interact with the panel in the room and adjust its switches so that the numbers that are displayed add up to 23. This is done by setting the switches to 42908, and players should quickly photograph the Patrolling Man after they have entered it.
This ghost will lead players into the Path of Purification, and they should photograph the Man Guarding Door at the bottom of the stairs. There is also a Hozuki Doll to be photographed on the rafters at the bottom of the stairs, and the Pierce Lens is on the ground. After dealing with those items, players should try to use the small door that leads back to the Switchboard Room. This action will initiate a ghost battle that ultimately awards a file.
Players must now make their way back to the 1F Entrance Hall, passing through the Closet and Lift Lobby along the way. A ghost battle will occur in the Entrance Hall during this visit, and fans should allow the ghosts to blossom in order to register additional entries to the Ghost list.
After this battle, players should head to the Lift Hall, enter the lift, and photograph the Man in Lift. Fans of Wii horror games should then use the lift's control panel to travel to the Floor 3.
In the 3F Lift Lobby, players should photograph a Hozuki Doll that is near the top of the stairs to the right. Fans of the Fatal Frame franchise should then use the door to the Control Room, photograph the Nurse Waiting, and then photograph a Hozuki Doll that is on the locker to the left of the room's entrance. Players should then enter the area where they saw the nurse, grab the 3F Room Assignment on the table, and enter 1956 into the Communications Panel.
As soon as that code has been entered, players should turn around and photograph Nurse Heading Toward Room. Fans of action horror games should then follow that nurse, picking up some Type-14 Film and Red Spirit Stones along the way, to initiate a cutscene and complete Phase 4 in Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
