Phase 3 of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse centers around Choshiro Kirishima's exploration of the Haibara Infirmary, and players will encounter a variety of collectibles, and even some puzzles, as they work through it. While it is not requisite that fans find absolutely every collectible in The Lost Day, some players will undoubtedly be interested in doing so. This walkthrough is here to assist with that endeavor, and it will help fans find every Hozuki Doll, file, and ghost in Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse's Phase 3.
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse - Chapter 3 Walkthrough
As soon as players take control of Choshiro Kirishima, they should walk forward to obtain Choshiro's Notebook, the Tape Recorder, and Choshiro's Investigation Notes (1). Fans of survival horror games should then enter the Haibara Infirmary, read through the tutorial about the Spirit Stone Flashlight, and complete the ghost battle to earn the Camera Lens and Switch upgrade.
Players will now have the opportunity to move around within the 1F Entrance Hall, and they should stop by the Save Point, pick up the Herbal Medicine to its left, and then grab Warning: Wandering Patients from the ledge that is across the room. Fans of Fatal Frame games should then collect some Red Spirit Stones from a nearby couch before approaching the lift and triggering a cutscene.
When that cutscene concludes, players should make their way upstairs to the 2F Entrance Hall. There is a Blue Spirit Stone in the back-right corner of this room, and fans should collect it before opening the door with the cracked window.
Players are now in the Doctor's Office, and they can find Medical File: Asagi Hizuki on the desk to the left and Hibara's Assistant's Notes in a nearby bookshelf. There is also a Hozuki Doll in the bottom-left corner of the window across from the desk, and fans should take a moment to photograph it.
Fans should now pass into the Old General Hospital and quickly photograph the Long-Haired Girl that appears. In this room, players can find some Red Spirit Stones on the bed near the door and the Diary with Pictures (1) on the bed near the Long-Haired Girl's position. Reading that Diary will cause the Assistant Wandering Corridor to appear, and fans should photograph this ghost in Fatal Frame before following him.
As players follow the ghost, they should photograph the Hozuki Doll in the wheelchair, pass through the curtain, and photograph the Assistant Standing in Smoking Area on the other side. There is an ashtray near this ghost's position, and fans of photography games can collect the Flat Iron Key and Map of Haibara Infirmary from it before backtracking and battling a ghost.
Once that ghost has been defeated, players should make their way back to the Doctor's Office and photograph the Man Standing by Window. Fans of games with female protagonists should then approach the nearby sink and photograph the Man Reflected in Mirror before making their way back to the first floor.
On this visit to the 1F Entrance Hall, players should photograph Assistant Heading to OR, make a quick stop by the Save Point, and answer the phone on the ledge across the room. Fans can then use the Flat Iron Key that they obtained previously to open a door leading to the Operating Room Corridor.
In this corridor, players will find some Blue Spirit Stones sitting on a couch, which they should grab before passing through a curtain. Fans of Japanese horror should then approach the sink, pick up the Herbal Medicine, and photograph the Hozuki Doll that is above the fixture. Players can also obtain Article: "Mass Disappearances" by interacting with the locker in this room, and there are Red Spirit Stones on the ground next to it.
The Operating Room is up next, and players should photograph Doctors Performing Operation upon entering. Fans can then photograph a Hozuki Doll on the ground to the left of the sink, grab some Blue Spirit Stones to the right of the sink, and interact with the operating table to initiate a ghost battle. This battle awards the Diary with Pictures (2), and fans can interact with the operating table a second time to receive Post-Mortem Report: Asagi Hizuki.
Players should now follow the ghost into the Reference Room, photograph Assistant Before Desk, and collect What is the Rogetsu Kagaru? From the nearby shelf to initiate a cutscene. When that scene concludes, fans should approach the desk where the ghost was standing and grab Haibara's Assistant Notebook (2) and the Small Iron Key. Players can then pick up some Red Spirit Stones and photograph a Hozuki Doll in a broken cabinet.
At this point, fans should return to the Operating Room and defeat a ghost to receive the Informer's Report. Players will encounter some more hostile ghosts as they work back through the Operating Room Corridor, and they should make a save and answer the phone in the 1F Entrance Hall when they reach it.
This phone call will lead to yet another ghost battle, and players should use the Small Iron Key to unlock the Exam Room after dispatching the foe. In this room, fans should photograph the Hozuki Doll on the bench by the entrance and then collect Patient Interview: Takashi Aiba and Moonlight Syndrome and the Moon from the nearby desk.
Players should now enter Reception, photograph Nurse Placing Wooden Card, and then collect the Wooden Card (Waning Moon) that the Fatal Frame nurse was placing. There is also Herbal Medicine and Sacred Water on the shelves in this room, and there is a Hozuki Doll to be photographed on a ledge in the corner.
Fans can now backtrack through the Exam Room and enter the Medical File Room, where they should photograph Assistant Hiding Something. Players should then enter a small room from which a beeping is emanating and collect Haibara's Assistant's Notes (3) from the desk. There is a curtain hanging near this desk, and there are Blue Spirit Stones and an Engraved Box on the shelves beyond it as well as a Hozuki Doll on a stepladder.
Fans should now interact with the flashing device to initiate a ghost battle that will ultimately grant passage to the Director's Office Corridor. There is a Red Spirit Stone on the stretcher in this hallway, which players should pick up before descending the stairs that are ahead. At the bottom of these stairs, fans should photograph Assistant Behind Fence, photograph the Hozuki Doll on the ground near the fence, and pick up the Wooden Card (Waving Moon) that is sitting on the desk beyond the fence. This card will cause the Engraved Box to open and grant the Memo with Code.
With this file in hand, players should go back up the stairs, enter the Director's Office, and photograph Director Haibara Passing By. Fans should then enter the room and collect Director Haibara's Notes (1) and some Blue Spirit Stones from the bookshelves. There is also a Hozuki Doll in a box on a bottom shelf of a bookshelf, which the Fatal Frame protagonist should quickly photograph.
Once all of these collectibles have been dealt with, fans should interact with the intercom on the desk and use Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse's Memo with Code to solve the puzzle. For those players that may be struggling with this puzzle, the solution is 276, and it is possible to move a bookshelf in the room when it has been entered.
Beyond that bookshelf is the B2F Laboratory and a ghost battle. Notably, players can get a Ghost list entry by photographing this Fatal Frame hostile ghost when it blooms, and there are also some Blue Spirit Stones and the Moonlight Syndrome Research File to be collected before descending some stairs.
While climbing down the stairs, players can photograph a Hozuki Doll in a box underneath them and pick up some Blue Spirit Stones on a table. At the very bottom of the stairs, fans will find the Focus Lens on the ground, and they should grab it before passing through the hallway, interacting with the tunnel at the end, and completing Phase 3.
