Summary

  • Strikers like Tricera excel at holding areas and supporting teammates in capture and data missions.
  • Stego, though tanky, struggles with 360 view and holding areas effectively like Tricera.
  • Strikers such as Hurricane can effectively defend with deployable shields and deal high damage.

The core gameplay in Mecha Break is all about outmaneuvering the opponents and trying to land shots at them while evading their attacks. All of this is possible thanks to a fluid movement system that comes with a steep learning curve to master.

The movement system is tied to the energy reserve of every Striker and their energy consumption rate. However, there is a set max speed for each Striker, which is why some of them can move a lot faster than others.

Mecha Break: 6 Best Starter Mechs

Mecha Break has a lot of playable mech options, but for those who are new to the game, these are the best ones they can pick.

Still, ranking strikers based solely on their boosted speed on the ground or in the air doesn't tell the whole truth about the striker's capabilities. What is the benefit of a lightning-fast striker when it cannot deal enough damage to opponents?

The strikers have been ranked based on their boosted speed on the ground.

15 Tricera

Boosted Speed: 60 (Ground) - 26 (Air)

Tricera - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 35,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 560
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 62 seconds

Despite being the slowest striker both on the ground and in the air, Tricera is still one of the best holders in Mecha Break. The entire concept behind Tricera's design is to create a sentinel that occupies a critical location on the map and defends it.

In modes where players are required to capture a location, Tricera can be a force to be reckoned with. Also, it can help as a support unit in data center missions, where players need to upload data. Tricera can buy a lot of time for the teammates.

The high energy consumption prevents Tricera from being as effective in the air as it is on the ground. Also, its Aux 2 ability is primarily used while he is stationary, providing him with additional shields and a 360 view of surroundings to attack any incoming threat like a massive machine gun.

14 Stego

Boosted Speed: 61 (Ground) - 27 (Air)

Stego - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 38,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 500
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 76 seconds

Similar to Tricera, Stego is also a quite tanky striker that comes with a slow movement speed, as it's a holder too. Despite the slight speed edge over Tricera, Stego is just not as good at holding areas, since its stationary mode doesn't give players a 360 view of the position. As a result, Stego is always quite vulnerable to attacks from behind.

While the Rocket Pod shots do deal a significant amount of damage, they reload pretty slowly. It's safe to say that Stego cannot really hold an area on its own, unlike Tricera.

The Aux 3 ability of Stego is quite powerful, but it is only usable in the stationary mode, which again has to deal with the limited coverage angle problem. However, the lower energy consumption allows Stego to float around for a longer duration.

13 Hurricane

Boosted Speed: 64 (Ground) - 29 (Air)

Hurricane - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 46,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 520
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 88 seconds

Hurricane is a defense-heavy striker similar to Stego and Tricera, but the good news is that the Hurricane is quite effective while airborne, as none of its abilities force it to stay stationary.

Thanks to a massive energy tank, the Hurricane can float around for a longer period, and it can use all its abilities while airborne. Although the energy shots reload slowly, they deal a significant amount of damage. The Aux 3 ability for Hurricane is also quite effective in rapidly draining an opponent's health bar.

Using the deployable shields, Hurricane can prevent enemies from targeting it until the shields are up, which buys them some time and prevents incoming damage from reaching it.

Despite a faster speed compared to Stego and Tricera, Hurricane is still vulnerable against fast-moving targets like Falcon.

12 Inferno

Boosted Speed: 65 (Ground) - 29 (Air)

Inferno - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 46,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 520
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 88 seconds

Inferno sits somewhere between a sentinel like Stego and a mobile defender like Hurricane. The primary weapons are shotguns that deal heavy damage from a melee range to the targets, but they also come with an alternative shooting mode for long-range battles, though the charge time for the long-range shot is pretty long.

The abilities of Inferno are all somewhat similar to those of Hurricane. Two of the abilities deal ranged damage to opponents through laser beams, while one of them saves Inferno from receiving negative status effects.

Inferno and Hurricane even share the exact same numbers in energy consumption and energy tank, which puts them pretty close to each other in the ranking.

11 Pinaka

Boosted Speed: 66 (Ground) - 32 (Air)

Pinaka - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 37,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 480
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 77 seconds

Pinaka is a healer, and it comes with much better healing equipment compared to Luminae, though it sacrifices some speed instead. As a support unit, Pinaka's main job is to help attack-heavy strikers survive their fights.

Pinaka only has one attacking move that shoots a bunch of rockets at the target, though they don't deal a significant amount of damage.

However, Pinaka is quite effective on the defensive side. It can apply a bubble-like shield that not only prevents incoming damage but also gradually repairs the target and recharges its health bar.

The slower speed prevents Pinaka from moving around fast, which is why it's a great pair for strikers like Stego, Tricera, or even Hurricane, helping them hold an objective more effectively.

10 Alysnes

Boosted Speed: 67 (Ground) - 30 (Air)

Alysnes - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 43,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 600
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 71 seconds

As the first striker that players get acquainted with, Alysnes is a versatile mecha that benefits from both ranged and melee attacks. This significantly helps with keeping the opponent under fire, as the player can quickly switch to the melee weapon once they run out of bullets and avoid the opponent from recovering.

That being said, Alysnes is not as fast as some of the other strikers on the battlefield, which prevents it from successfully chasing the enemies. Although the melee attack comes with a limited leap towards the opponent, that's still not enough.

While the slow speed might prevent Alysnes from reaching its full potential, let's not forget about its exceptional ability to resurrect itself with full health after being defeated. This passive ability alone shoots Alysnes to the top half of the meta ranking.

9 Skyraider

Boosted Speed: 68 (Ground) - 52 (Air)

Skyraider - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 44,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 480
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 91 seconds

As the name implies, Skyraider is a superb striker to dominate the sky and land aerial attacks on opponents. The striker comes with a significantly long flying period, and it even has a dedicated ability for flying at a higher speed. When this ability is active, Skyraider gains access to its Aux 3 ability to launch branching missiles at enemies.

While the damage output from Aux 3 is significant, it's usually inaccurate, as landing the missiles directly on opponents while flying at a high speed is not an easy job to tackle.

8 Narukami

Boosted Speed: 69 (Ground) - 37 (Air)

Narukami - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 17,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 220
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 77 seconds

Narukami is built for players who would like to hunt their enemies from afar without them noticing where the shot came from. The main ability of this striker is its extremely long range of engagement and stealth mechanics.

Thanks to its abilities, Narukami can find a corner on the map and oversee the battlefield while staying hidden from enemies. From there, it can land some devastating shots at opponents, and before they arrive, Narukami can reposition to another spot on the map.

Mecha Break: How to Get New Mechs

With how varied Mecha Break's engagements can be, it's best to have a Striker for every occasion. Here's how you can unlock more Mechs.

This is where speed comes into play. Narukami is not necessarily fast, but it's not annoyingly slow either. Since Narukami is not the type of striker to move around a lot or use its sniping abilities while on the move, the small energy tank doesn't limit it.

7 Welkin

Boosted Speed: 70 (Ground) - 30 (Air).

Welkin - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 48,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 550
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 87 seconds

Welkin is by far the strongest melee damage dealer in the game, not solely based on the damage output, but also thanks to a variety of powerful tools that help it surround the enemy with devastating attacks.

A melee unit must be speedy enough to get closer to its targets and land strikes on them. Welkin stands above the average when it comes to the ground speed. And despite having a high energy consumption, it can still lurk around for a long period.

While Welkin's most powerful attack is the spinning axe, it has a rocket launcher that deals ranged damage as well. Trapping enemies inside its cage and then cornering them with repeated axe strikes almost guarantees a kill for Welkin.

6 Aquila

Boosted Speed: 70 (Ground) - 48 (Air)

Aquila - Mecha Break
  • Max Energy: 45,000
  • Boost Energy Consumption: 700
  • Boost Duration (Ground): 64 seconds

While Narukami is a sniper who prefers to stay stationary and far from the battlefield, Aquila delivers a more mobile version of the same experience, where the abilities are less stealthy and don't force the player to stand still.

These characteristics make Aquila a more interesting option for players than Narukami, though it also means the player will have to deal with more dangerous situations.

Although Aquila is a lot faster than Narukami in the air, the extremely high energy consumption rate prevents Aquila from roaming around a lot, which is something that is crucial for a sniper. Aquila can fly and still use its scoped shots, but the player must have good management of their energy.

Since Aquila doesn't have the stealth options of Narukami, it is quite important to always save some energy for escaping from rushing enemies and keep a safe distance from them.
