The first part of Far Cry 6's DLC features Vaas as a playable character. Fans of the series know Vaas as the main antagonist of Far Cry 3, and with Far Cry 6, Ubisoft allows gamers to step into his shoes. Separate from the main campaign, Far Cry 6 Vaas: Insanity shows the titular character overcoming Citra's trials to find three pieces of the Silver Dragon Blade.
In Vaas: Insanity, players are locked out of their weapons from FC6's campaign mode and instead are armed with a single pistol. However, with the Mirror Traits mechanic, Vaas can gain access to different perks that can make gameplay easier. Depending on the Mind Level, certain Traits will take priority over others.
About "The Mirror"
There are five Mirror Traits with different perks: Pride (Health), Wrath (Combat/Takedowns), Greed (Cash), Sloth (Exploration), and Envy (Extra gadget sockets). Luckily, unlocking a Skill in the Mirror Traits is permanent, and won't disappear if Vaas is killed. These Skills can be made available if the player has Cash.
|

Health-focused, most perks increase overall HP. |
|
Wrath |
Grants benefits for Takedowns. |
|
Greed |
Retain some Cash if Vaas dies. |
|

Best Mirror Traits
Traits will vary from player to player based on their preferred method of gameplay. For example: If someone prefers Mind Level 1 (Easy), they can get away with only unlocking the first two levels of the Envy Traits, whereas someone playing on Mind Level 3-5 (Difficult) may want to unlock all Envy Traits. Mind Levels 2-5 cannot be played until Mind Level 1 is finished.
Everyone should try to unlock the following traits:
|
Trait Category |
Trait Level |
Description |
|---|---|---|
|
Pride |
3 |
Increase Health |
|
Wrath |
4 |
Use a Takedown on an alerted enemy. |
|
Greed |
2 |
Keep up to 1,000 Cash after dying |
|
Sloth |
4 |
Move faster when crouched. |
|
Envy |
3 |
Add a third Gadget Socket to the Weapon Wheel. |
Note: In order to reach a Trait higher than Level 1, players need to unlock the Trait before it. Meaning a Level 3 Trait can only be achieved after using Cash for Level 1 and Level 2.
The investment will cost more Cash, but on the plus side, players will have access to all previous Skills in the Mirror Trait. A player who has unlocked the 4th Trait in the Sloth Category ("Move faster when crouched") will also have access to the wingsuit, parachute, and grapplehook from Sloth Trait's 3rd Level.
For those that prefer a challenge, consider reaching the 4th Greed Trait: "Keep up to 6,000 Cash after dying." Most Mirror Traits will want to be level 4 or level 5 on higher Mind Levels. Lastly, if the player prefers to go headfirst into combat and avoid stealth, they may want to work on the Wrath, Pride, and the first Skill of the Sloth Traits before the others.
Far Cry 6 is available for PC, Luna, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
