Far Cry 6: How To Unlock The Madrugadian Horse

One of the main modes of transportation in Far Cry 6 is riding on horseback. Of course, there are vehicles varying from armored cars to helicopters, but the horse is a more permanent fixture for Dani. It’s a good thing too, because riding a horse in Far Cry 6 is well-executed and a joy to experience. Unlike vehicles, however, horses can’t take the damage that cars do, and won’t tolerate Dani if the player is too careless.

The horses can be summoned at pickup points dotted around the island of Yara. There are tamed horses with saddles and wild horses that can be trained to become a selectable mount from the Horse Pickup points. The first horse that Dani should seek out is the Madrugadian Horse — here's how.

Where To Find The Madrugardian Horse

Assuming that the Madrugarda is the first region that the player, as Dani, has opted to explore, then it is a good idea to try and find the Madrugardian Horse as soon as possible. The Madrugardian Horse can be found near Armonia where the first mission with Juan is.

It’s possible that the Madrugardian Horse won’t be available until after completing the first mission with Juan Cortez. So it’s best to follow these steps first before seeking out the animal:

Accept the mission from Clara to find Juan Cortez in Armonia
Upon completing the Mission, return To Clara’s Camp with Juan
Use The Workbench
Fast Travel Back To Armonia

Locating The Madrugardian Horse

Finding the Madrugardian Horse shouldn’t be too difficult from here. It can appear at random either on its own or as a group of wild horses. Once Dani has arrived at the Armonia Fast Travel point, head left to the area near the fence and large rocks. If there are no horses in the area then simply Fast Travel back to camp and back to Armonia again, they should appear after the first attempt.

Tagging the Madrugardian with camera phone

Once a horse or a harem of horses has been spotted approach them using stealth by pressing B/Circle to crouch and walk.
Tag the horses using the phone camera so Dani can keep track of them.
Then very slowly approach one from behind in the crouched position as it’s busy eating.
When Dani is close enough, hold the X/Square button to mount the horse
Once Dani has captured the horse take it to the nearest Horse Pickup point. There is one directly south of where the Madrugardian Horse was captured.
