The Far Cry series is a massively popular gaming franchise by Ubisoft, and Far Cry 6 is the sixth main installment. While the games are a success, fans wish they could change a few aspects to truly make them the best they can be.
One major aspect fans have had issues with is the perspective. When first seeing the game, it seemed that it would be in the third-person POV (point-of-view), but some players had a hard time figuring out how to change this perspective. Here's a guide to how perspective works in the game.
Far Cry 6: All Missions
Far Cry 6 has a total of 106 missions each broken up into three different categories, and here's the list of all Far Cry 6 missions.
Can You Manually Change Perspectives?
The short answer to this question is no; players cannot manually change perspectives in the game. Instead, the game will automatically switch the perspective for them. They cannot do it themselves, which is a major disappointment for a lot of fans.
Here are some moments when the game switches to the third person, giving players a different view of the game.
- Cutscenes: In most cutscenes, Dani will be seen in the third person, allowing players to get a feel for the entire scene rather than just what the character sees.
- Photo Mode: Photo Mode can be done in first person, third person, or with all characters out of frame, whatever the player prefers.
- Inside Guerrilla Camps: As soon as a Guerrilla Camp is entered, Dani can be seen, making it easier for players to interact with the NPCs.
- Doing A Supremo Ability: When doing one of these, the camera will switch to the third person so players can see Dani performing the action.
Here are some moments when the game must stay first-person, no matter if mods are downloaded.
- Driving: No matter what players do, they cannot change their perspective while driving any vehicle (even the best vehicles cannot be changed).
- Flying: Just like with driving, the player cannot change their perspective while flying any vehicle.
- Shooting: While some combat moments can be in the third person (like any Supremo Ability), most of the time, combat, including shooting, is in the first person.
Far Cry 6: 24 Best Loadouts
Here are the best loadouts that players should use to gain a significant advantage in Far Cry 6.
Mods That Change Perspective
While mods cannot help console players much, PC players can use Nexus Mods to download mods that can allow them to play the game in the third person. Unfortunately, even after all this time, only a few mods exist that can help players experience the game from a new perspective.
- FC6 Third Person View: This mod will change the camera to third-person, but there are a few issues (but it is the best mod out there for the game).
- Improved 3rd Person: This mod improves upon the original FC6 Third Person View mod.
These mods allow players to customize their FOV (field-of-view). While this isn't the same as changing the POV to third-person, it can be helpful for players.
- Libertad Mod: This mod changes the FOV for horses, vehicles, and weapons.
- Scalable Ironsight FOV: This allows players to change the FOV for iron sights.
