Far Cry 5's open-world environment allows everyone to curate their own personal way of playing the game. It's possible to play and enjoy Far Cry 5 without finishing all the story missions, and there are plenty of side missions and objectives to complete after finishing the story. When it comes to advancing in the game, the thing that matters the most is Resistance Points.

In order to play through the story and earn the chance to fight the Seed family to take back Hope County, players have to earn a certain amount of Resistance Points in each region. The regions can be tackled in any order and players can switch between regions without losing progress on others. But there are certain objectives players should prioritize if they want to earn a lot of Resistance points, fast.

Plain and simple, just playing through the story missions, players can earn tons of Resistance Points. Every story mission gives out 600 to 900 Resistance points depending on the mission. Players have to earn a certain amount of Resistance Points before they are able to take down any of the Seeds in their region. Players have to earn 10,000 Resistance Points in John Seed's region, Holland Valley; 13,000 points in Faith's Region, the Henbane River; 13,000 in Jacob's region in the Whitetail Mountains.

Story Missions

Despite requiring the fewest points, John's area has the most missions available. The Holland Valley has 52 missions, where Faith's has 43, and Jacob's has 41. Players can gain the required amount of Resistance Points without finishing all the missions in a region, as long as they gain Resistance Points from other objectives.

Specialists

Recruiting Specialists, which are the Guns for Hire and Fangs for Hire, also earns players 600 to 900 Resistance Points each time a Specialist is recruited. There are three Specialists that can be recruited in each region: two Guns for Hire and one Fang for Hire. Each of these Specialists has at least one mission that players are required to complete in order to recruit them.

Side Missions

Side Missions are optional objectives that don't really impact the story, but will reward players with Resistance Points when completed. Side missions can award players up to 200 Resistance Points each. They can range from hunting or fishing for a specific thing, to destroying cult-owned properties and even killing enemies in certain ways. Side missions also award players with money and sometimes special items and outfits.

4 Complete All Of Clutch Nixon's Challenges

Clutch Nixon was a well-known stuntman from the Holland Valley. He's a local legend, and players can find roadside plaques of him in all the regions of Hope Count. These memorial plaques are also how players can accept Clutch Nixon challenges. There are eight in all, and each one requires the player to recreate a famous stunt of his.

Each stunt will award the player 200 Resistance Points when completed successfully. Some of the missions give out other rewards that players should consider attempting aside from just earning Resistance Points. Some will give out between $700 to $750, and others will unlock certain vehicles or award the player with certain outfits.

3 Liberate Cult Outposts

The Jessop Conservatory in Henbane River

Eden's Gate took control of many businesses and other establishments set up in Hope County, turning them into cult outposts. Outposts have strategic value for the cult whether they're used as a base of operations, a research facility, or as the personal home for one of the Seed family. No matter what it is, it's important for players to locate and liberate as many of these outposts as possible.

Not only will liberating outposts earn players 400 Resistance Points each, but there are several other benefits to taking back control of these important areas. Liberating outposts will unlock side missions and the area will become a fast travel location, making it easier for players to travel around Hope County. Liberating these places also unlocks other things like outfits and vehicles.

There are 20 Cult Outpost locations in total. The Ranger Station of Dutch's Island is the first outpost players will be able to liberate and is one of the easiest to take over. There are only four cult members located there and there are no alarms. There are 7 outposts in Holland Valley, 8 in Henbane River, and 4 in the Whitetail Mountains.

Shrines

Destroying shrines will earn players 100 Resistance points each. Shrines are small monuments that continuously pump out Bliss. Sometimes cult members guard the shrines, and there can even be hostages held at the base of these shrines. Once the cult members are taken care of, it's easy to destroy the shrine by either shooting at the red tank inside the shrine or throwing explosives at it. If a player has a rocket launcher, they can destroy the shrine from a distance, but they should make sure there are no hostages nearby first.

There are 16 shrines in total, and two are on Dutch's Island. The other 14 are located in Faith's region in the Henbane River. Destroying all of them will complete the False Idols side mission.

Silos

Destroying Silos also earns players 100 Resistance Points each. It works the same way as destroying shrines, though players can also use machine guns on helicopters and planes to destroy the silos from the air. Silos are tall, and red and are marked with the symbol for Eden's Gate in white. There are 14, and they are located all over John's region.

Roadblocks & Supply Vehicles

Destroying roadblocks will earn players 75 Resistance Points, and they can accomplish that by completing the story mission The Widowmaker. Destroying the cult's supply vehicles also earns players 75 Resistance Points. Players can do this while traveling around Hope Country and simply destroying all the cult's vehicles that they find on the road.

1 Save Hostages And Kill Cult VIPs

Last but not least, players can earn some Resistance Points by saving hostages and killing cult VIPs. Both of those will reward the player with 50 Resistance Points each time they succeed. It's important to be stealthy and quick when it comes to saving hostages, as cult members will kill the hostages before engaging in combat with the player.
