Topaz is a rare drop from Superior and Amazing Copper Deposits in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Destroying one of these gathering nodes has a chance to reward players with one or two pieces of Topaz in addition to the usual Copper.
You can increase the odds of Topaz dropping by dealing a large amount of damage with the final swing of your pickaxe, resulting in Excellent Gathering and a much higher chance of Topaz appearing. This will come naturally as you craft new tools and level up your Mining Life in Fantasy Life i, but you can still pull it off as a fledgling Miner in the starting areas of the game.
You can use food to boost your Mining abilities. The restaurant vendor in the Capital of Mysteria sells Honey Flan, for example, which boosts gathering for the next three attempts.
Where to Find Amazing and Superior Copper in Fantasy Life i
Amazing and Superior Copper Deposits are much rarer than the standard ore nodes, but there are a few spots where they're guaranteed to appear. The best place to find these is Banaan Cave in the Capital of Mysteria. You can find it along the southwest coast of the area.
There are a few enemies and regular Copper Deposits inside, but the end of the cave has two or three Amazing and Superior Copper Deposits that are sure to spawn every time. Performing Excellent Gathering on these is the most reliable way to farm Topaz during the early stages of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.
