Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has 14 Life (jobs) to try, some are focused on Combat, others on Gathering, and some on Crafting, but all of them require one thing in common to progress, and that is experience (XP). In Act 1, when players arrive at Mysteria for the first time, and they are able to choose and level up basically every Life, they might feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work it requires to raise these jobs and unlock all their abilities.

In this guide, players will find all the best spots to farm XP with Gathering & Combat lives and the most efficient way to level up all Crafting Lives in the early-game stages, giving them a considerable advantage later in the adventure. Players will find detailed information on farming routes, enemies, gathering materials, and useful tips to raise Crafting Lives faster.

Best Spots To Level Up Miner Life

To start leveling up Miner Life in Fantasy Life I: The Girl Who Steals Time, players should first activate this Life in the Paladin's Guild. Once players acquire the Miner Life and their first Pickaxe, they will go through an introductory tutorial, which can be skipped if players have already picked a previous Life, and this will immediately grant them the rank of Fledgling and a better Life Gathering Tool. However, it is recommended that players follow the introductory Challenge Quest to learn the ropes of mining.

After this is concluded, players can start farming Miner Life XP in Mysteria, and the best way to do that is by gathering tons of Copper Ore, which can be done in three different spots according to the level the players have:

  • Novice Miner's Pit above Eternia Village (Level 1 to 4): As part of the introductory quest, players will have to find Beryl, then gather some minerals inside this cave that contains Copper Ore Deposits that go from Level 2 to 5, and can help players reach at least level 4 in a few runs.
  • The Capital of Mysteria Outskirts (Level 4 to 8): After that, head to the Capital City and turn right around the entrance to find several Copper Ore Deposits that rank from level 7 to 9. And to the southwest (bottom left, near the beach) to find level 6 to 8 Copper Ore Deposits. Farm XP there by resetting the deposits crossing the entrance to the Capital, and reach level 8, then proceed to the next farming spot.
  • Banaan Cave (Level 8 to 20+): This spot, which is located west of the Capital of Mysteria, will help players reach the maximum possible level during Act 1, simply by entering, mining every instance of the cave, then exiting to reset the resource nodes.

Fantasy Life I: How to get Hyper Healthy Honey

Hyper Healthy Honey is one of the requirements to progress further in the Hunter's Life, and here's where to locate this quest item.

Banaan Cave can be found west of the Capital, and it will be the ultimate destination for the players' Mining Journey (in Act 1) and they can farm Experience there up to level 30 thanks to the presence of Superior Copper Deposits and the nearly impossible to break Fire Crystal. Luckily, once players hit Level 20, they will be able to unlock Bedrock Smash, which really does the trick to farm this huge special Deposit, which yields tons of experience and respawns every 5 minutes.

Best Spots To Level Up Woodcutter Life

Starting from the Eternia Village Woodcutter's guild, all the spots around the Life Trainer are safe for beginners. Most of the trees there can be felled without too much trouble, but if players want to ramp up XP fast, they should try the following spots.

  • Eternia Village Beach (Level 5 to 6): Following the coastline, players will be able to gather lots of Palm Tree wood, which they will need to level up Carpenter later. They can rise up to level 6 without getting out of the starter zone.
  • Mysteria Capital (Level 6 to 10): After reaching at least level 6, follow up to the Capital of the Island, and look around the entrance for Oak Trees (Levels 6 to 10), and simply cut them down one by one, until reaching level 10. From there, leveling up can be done on the northwestern side of the Capital.
  • Mysteria Capital Beaches (Level 10 to 15+): Near Banaan Cave and surrounding beach areas, Palm Trees rank from 10 to 12, and after that, players can spot Oak Trees from level 12 to 15 above the coast levels on the ledges surrounding the river and north of Banaan Cave. Level 15 Trees are a little bit harder to fell, but once players unlock more skills and the Charged Cut skill, they will be able to overcome this soft-cap and reach higher levels.

Like Miner or Angler, Woodcutter has the same 'Sweet Spot' mechanic that allows players to cause more damage to the node (tree) and cut it down faster and without using too much SP. Players should aim to unlock the Sweet Spot tracker ability from the central branch of the skill tree, since it will save them tons of time and effort.

Best Spots To Level Up Angler Life

Angler might be one of the hardest Gathering Life to level up, so players need to arm themselves with patience and follow this route with spots to farm XP faster:

  • Lake near the Woodcutting Guild (Level 1 to 5): There are two 'Fish Shadows' inside this tiny lake, and they're quite easy to catch, since they never go above level 3. Players can quickly grab some Angler experience, then move to the next farming spot to keep leveling up.
  • Eternia Village Dock (Level 6 to 7): The fishing spots found alongside the dock of the starting island village are a little bit harder, but quite easy to farm since there are many of them in quick succession. Players can go up to level 7 by fishing here, but after that, they will need to catch bigger fish to raise their Life XP.
  • Mysteria Capital canals (Level 7 to 11): There are various fishing spots in the canals of Mysteria, outside the wall and inside the wall near a small pier below the city's main road bridge. Players can level up to 11 by catching Mysteria Koi. If players are lucky, they will be able to raise their Angler level enough to face the 'Boss Fish' located inside Banaan Cave, and gather lots of experience.

Every Life Skill tree has +Exp% nodes, which will increase how fast players can raise their levels. Investing in these early on, then resetting the Skill tree in the Guild, is the best way to level up Life Skills faster.

Best Spots To Level Up All Combat Lives In Fantasy Life I

Combat Lives are a little bit harder to level up, since they require a lot of mob slaying, but there are specific points during Act 1 that are great for farming loads of experience. No matter which Combat Life (Paladin, Hunter, Mercenary, Magician) players pick, they will certainly level up faster in these spots and following these tips:

  • Eternia Village Beach (Level 1 to 4): There are two groups of enemies (Tropic Toads and Tunoco Lizard) that spawn constantly in this place. Simply scroll out of the area, and these critters will respawn, creating the perfect training ground to move up the first levels in any Combat Life.
  • Mysteria Capital (Level 4 to 10): Players will find tons of spots to farm Combat Life Experience in this zone, but the best sites are those around Banaan Cave. On the beach, they will find groups of Tortortoise, which are quite easy to dodge and defeat, and spawn by the dozen. On the fields, by night, players should hunt Red Wolves and Mini Spooky that appear right next to each other to maximize their XP farm.
  • Banaan Cave (Level 10 to 15+): Inside Banaan Cave, players will find groups of Proto Beetle Baller, which are also quite easy to beat and grant lots of experience. Then, there's a spot further inside the cave (taking the northern path) that is a spawn for Lvl. 11 Tunoco Lizards. Players can muster them up and eliminate them together using one of their AoE skills to maximize farming speed. To reset the spots, get outside of the cave and repeat.

Combat Lives like the Hunter or the Mage are better than the Mercenary or the Paladin in terms of AoE damage. The Hunter is especially good against bosses, since it can basically cheese them using Sleep Arrow. Players should try every Combay Life to see which one suits their tastes better before investing in leveling it up.

Tips To Level Up Crafting Lives In Fantasy Life I

Unlike Gathering or Combat Lives, Crafting Lives are a little bit harder to level up. The logical way to raise Life XP on these classes, would be to get as many ingredients as possible and craft tons of things, but since there's a mini game players need to beat each time they craft, it gets complicated. Unless, of course, players have leveled enough to unlock auto-crafting. Here's what they should do to level up all Crafting Lives early:

  1. Gather resources or purchase them using the Dosh gained from hunting monsters and completing Challenges/Quests.
  2. Use the crafting mini-game and level up the Crafting Life until unlocking the Fledgling/Apprentice nodes, leading to Auto-Craft unlock (They are usually placed in the upper middle branch of the skill trees).
  3. Use auto-craft to maximize efficiency, then sell the crafted goods to recover some Dosh (Gold) and buy more mats.
  4. Every Level Up, invest Skill Points in +Exp% Nodes, and repeat the process.

Players will notice that they will soon reach Crafting Life levels around 8 to 10. The next step would be to craft 2-Star recipes that yield even more experience. But to do that, players will have to repeat the mini-game process, then unlock auto-crafting for the next tier.
