The wait is finally over, as the first full-length trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally arrived. Fans got a brief glimpse of the movie's retro-futuristic world in a previously released teaser (which also revealed Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Thing and his penchant for cooking), this trailer reveals so much more, including a clear look at one of the movie's villains.

Until now, promotional material for The Fantastic Four: First Steps had only given small glimpses of Galactus, and that doesn't change here. However, what this new trailer does deliver is the reveal of Julia Garner as the MCU version of the Silver Surfer. Serving as the herald of the giant planet devourer, Garner's character plainly tells the Fantastic Four (and everyone else) that their planet "is now marked for death."

Fantastic Four: First Steps Takes Its First Steps Towards Its Premiere With Its First Trailer

The first trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps is finally here, and while it's light on extras, it does capture the essence of the team for fans.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer Reveals A Lot More

There's a lot more going on in the first Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer as well, including confirmation that Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) is pregnant. This was already teased by a short clip released prior to the trailer, in which Sue and Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards are thrown by Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) declaring that they are "late." This trailer shows the follow-up to that, which is a much more savvy Ben Grimm immediately picking up on this moment and understanding that a baby is on the way. "We are gonna be the best uncles ever," Johnny declares, right after telling Reed that he is out of his depth.

The tone of this trailer is decidedly darker than anything that came before it. There's a blend of optimism from the '60s space race vibes and seriousness from the looming planetary threat of Galactus. That blend is also reflected in Sue and Reed's characterization, which is made much more clear here. Sue (who may or may not show her darker side as well) espouses hopefulness in each line, saying "I am not giving up," and "we can do this, nothing is going to change." Meanwhile, Reed is far more downbeat, seeming to feel the responsibility weighing on him. "It's my fault," he says, "I stretched the bounds of space, and they heard." Reed also can't bring himself to lie to a reporter who asks if they are safe, simply replying, "I don't know."

Also shown in this Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer, albeit very briefly, is Reed Richards's stretching power. This had been something that fans wondered about, as previous glimpses at the movie had not given any looks at Reed using his abilities. There are also more shots of Johnny Storm flaming on, as well as the Thing smashing through concrete pillars. There are hints of Sue Storm's forcefield abilities, but still no footage of her turning invisible.

With only a little over three months to go until the movie hits theaters, there are still a lot of hidden aspects of the movie that fans will have to wait and see ( that includes John Malkovich's character, who still has not been confirmed, as well as who Paul Walter Hauser and Natasha Lyonne will be playing). Fans are also still waiting to hear the voice of Galactus, but with Ralph Ineson in the role, they can be assured that the imposing cosmic behemoth will have the appropriate gravitas.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens in theaters on July 25th.
