Fallout Shelter is a live service colony management game that was launched in 2015. It is considered a casual game, and can be played on mobile devices and desktop. The game can be played for just a few minutes a day, or for hours at a time, depending on how much free time the player has.

Fallout Shelter: Best Quests

Fallout Shelter features various quests that players can complete in exchange for some nice rewards. Here are some of the best ones available.

Combat is a huge part of Fallout Shelter. The player will either send vault dwellers out into the wasteland to explore, which means they will definitely be engaged in combat, or send them on quests, some of which involve combat as well. Training the best stats and equipping combat dwellers properly is crucial to success.

7 Charisma

Leveled Up In The Lounge

Lounge In Fallout Shelter-1
  • Room Bonuses: Living Room, Radio Studio, Barbershop
  • Vault Effects: None
  • Main Effects: More legendary junk and resources, improved chance of successful NPC encounters
  • Quest Effects: None

When it comes to combat in Fallout Shelter, Charisma does nothing at all. There are no positive or negative bonuses. Any player who is training a vault dweller for combat can safely ignore the Charisma stat. However, if the dweller will also be used for questing, Charisma does have some use.

While vault numbers don't seemingly affect gameplay in Fallout Shelter, there are a few cool vault numbers that are simply fun to use.

1

If the player is training a vault dweller for dual purposes, both combat through wasteland exploration and questing, then having some Charisma will help the dweller to talk their way past certain confrontations while on a quest. It also boosts their chances of looting legendary junk.

6 Intelligence

Leveled Up In The Classroom

Classroom In Fallout Shelter-1
  • Room Bonuses: Medbay, Science Lab
  • Vault Effects: None
  • Main Effects: Increased experience gains
  • Quest Effects: None

Intelligence is another stat that has no negative or positive bonuses that have anything to do with combat. It has no bonuses that are useful on quests either. This means any player who is training a combat dweller, or a dweller to be used for both quests and wasteland combat, can safely ignore Intelligence.

However, Intelligence has a direct impact on the amount of experience a dweller earns when performing actions, including combat. When a vault dweller has high Intelligence, they receive a high experience payout, and will thus level up faster. It could be worth training at least a few points in Intelligence for just this reason.

5 Luck

Leveled In The Game Room

Game Room In Fallout Shelter-1
  • Room Bonuses: None
  • Vault Effects: More caps earned as rush rewards and better rush success chance
  • Exploration Effects: Find more loot and caps, and have a higher chance of legendary junk and loot items
  • Quest Effects: Crit rate speed

Oddly enough, Luck is a fairly valuable stat for vault dwellers who are going to engage in combat in Fallout Shelter, be it in automated combat encounters during wasteland exploration, or player-controlled combat during quests. It is also a useful stat for dwellers who are taking some time out and helping man the vault itself.

Even in Fallout Shelter, players will have to fight against the many threats of the wasteland. Here are the best weapons for Bethesda's vault sim.

Luck has a direct impact on the speed at which the critical chance indicator will fill up. The higher Luck stat a dweller has, the faster this indicator will move, and the easier it will be to get those lovely 5x damage critical hits. High Luck also gives a dweller more chance of finding loot, and loot of a higher level.

4 Agility

Trained In The Athletics Room

Fitness Room In Fallout Shelter-1
  • Room Bonuses: Diner, Garden
  • Vault Effects: None
  • Main Effects: Provides damage mitigation
  • Quest Effects: Faster attack rate

Agility could be called a tertiary combat stat in Fallout Shelter. It is useful in both wasteland combat encounters and quest combat. The main combat benefit of a dweller having high Agility is that it reduces the damage the dweller takes in combat.

During quest combat encounters, Agility also determines how quickly the dweller attacks, so it adds to sustained DPS in this case. Overall, every vault dweller that will be heading into combat at some stage could do with having at least a few levels of Agility trained in the Athletics Room.

3 Perception

Leveled In The Armory

Armory In Fallout Shelter-1
  • Room Bonuses: Water Treatment, Water Purification
  • Vault Effects: None
  • Exploration Effects: Looting more weapons, outfits, and recipes
  • Quest Effects: Easier crit arrow use

Perception is an excellent stat to train vault dwellers with before sending them out on combat quests, and it is also useful for automated combat during wasteland exploration. The main benefit of high Perception for combat is that the higher Perception a vault dweller has, the slower the crit arrow will move when the player is trying to score a critical hit.

There is another good reason to train Perception in the Armory as well, and this is due to the fact that it increases a dweller’s chance of looting weapons, outfits, and associated recipes. Overall, every combat dweller should have invested in at least a few points of Perception.

2 Endurance

Leveled In The Fitness Room

Fitness Room In Fallout Shelter-2
  • Room Bonuses: Nuka-Cola Bottler
  • Vault Effects: Gain more hit points when leveling up
  • Main Effects: More legendary junk found, provides radiation damage mitigation.
  • Quest Effects: Extra HP

Moving on to the two most important stats for combat in Fallout Shelter, Endurance is a stat that every vault dweller that will be involved in combat will want to boost as high as possible. Endurance impacts the number of health points a dweller has, and how many extra health points they gain with each level.

Fallout Shelter: 10 Tactics To Help The Vault Colony Survive

Fallout Shelter can really put your skills to the test. Here's a look at some tips and tactics to help your vault colony survive.

Endurance works for both quest combat encounters and wasteland exploration combat. Having a vault dweller spend some time in the Fitness Room to boost this stat is definitely beneficial. Additionally, Endurance lowers the amount of radiation damage a dweller takes when exploring the wasteland, and increases their chances of finding legendary junk.

1 Strength

Leveled In The Weight Room

Weight Room In Fallout Shelter-1
  • Room Bonuses: Power Generator, Nuclear Reactor
  • Vault Effects: None
  • Exploration Effects: Better chance of opening lockers.
  • Quest Effects: None

The most important stat of all that vault dwellers need in combat is Strength. Whether the dweller is going through automated combat encounters during wasteland exploration, or the player is controlling them during quest combat encounters, Strength is the key to success. This is for one very good reason: Strength equates to more damage output. The faster a dweller kills enemies, the less damage they will take.

Strength is trained in the Weight Room, and every combat vault dweller needs to have this stat maxed out as soon as possible. This is especially true for wasteland combat, where the dweller is fighting alone, as they'll need to kill enemies as fast as they can.
