Fallout: New Vegas has a large open world filled with hidden treasures and secrets. You never know what you might find in an unmarked cave or a smoldering crater. The Mojave Wasteland has kept New Vegas one of the most well-regarded games in the entire franchise.
The CZ57 Avenger is a unique variant of the minigun. It has a smaller magazine, deals more damage, and fires faster than the standard minigun. This gives it the highest damage per second count of any weapon in the entirety of Fallout: New Vegas. This guide will show you where this rare and powerful weapon is hidden in the Mojave Wasteland.
Fallout New Vegas: Every Snow Globe And Where To Find Them
Making for a fun side achievement, players in Fallout New Vegas can find snow globes around the world. Some are more difficult to locate than others.
CZ57 Avenger Location
The CZ57 Avenger is located far to the east of New Vegas in The Devil's Throat. Follow the road from the New Vegas Medical Clinic east to find it. It's just past Bitter Springs and Ranger Station Bravo. The nearby Gypsum Trainyard will have a group of wandering Deathclaws and the hills above the road regularly spawn Cazadors. This area can be especially brutal for low-level characters. Even Young and Blind Deathclaws can quickly end the Courier in a few swings. Come prepared for a fight.
The Devil's Throat
The Devil's Throat is not much better. It's a massive crater filled with a pile of radioactive waste. Stepping close to the smoking center will net you up to 8 RADS per second. Bring some Rad-X, a Radiation Suit, or work quickly to not end up with severe radiation poisoning.
The crater will have a group of disgusting centaur enemies. There will also be a few tougher versions called Evolved Centaurs. It's best to keep your distance and strike from long range. Post up at the rim of the crater with a sniper rifle or other long-range weaponry. A silenced sniper rifle like the Ratslayer can quickly defeat the centaurs with the help of a few sneak critical hits.
Finding the Avenger
Once all the centaurs are down, walk down into the crater. There is an old damaged truck near the center. A dead super mutant will be lying face down behind it.
Enter it and walk towards the front to find a Dead Prospector. The CZ57 Avenger will be next to him. There will also be 5mm ammo strewn around the truck for it. If the Avenger is missing, check your companions' inventory as they may pick it up during the fight.
The prospector has a Party Hat and valuable Reinforced Combat Armor that you can loot off of him. The CZ57 Avenger can be repaired using standard miniguns.
