Fallout: New Vegas has a colorful cast of companions that can join you on your journey. Arcade Gannon seems like an unassuming doctor with the Followers of Apocalypse faction when you first meet him. Convincing him to join isn't that simple depending on the choices you've made in your playthrough.
Chances are you will need to do a few tasks or wear the right clothing to meet his requirements. Befriending Arcade Gannon is also the only way to learn about the Enclave Remnants that are hidden in the Mojave Wasteland. Here is how to recruit Arcade Gannon into your party in Fallout: New Vegas.
What To Expect From Fortnite's Fallout Crossover
Here is a preview of what players can expect to see when Fortnite's Fallout Crossover releases on May 24th
Arcade Gannon's Location In Fallout: New Vegas
Arcade Gannon is located outside New Vegas in Freeside. You'll end up in this area by following the main questline to New Vegas. The closest fast travel point is Freeside's North Gate.
Enter Freeside, and you will see the Old Mormon Fort on the left-hand side of the street. This is the main base for the Followers of the Apocalypse faction. They're the nicest group in the Mojave Wasteland, focusing primarily on caring for the sick and hungry outside of New Vegas.
Skill Checks To Convince Arcade Gannon To Join
Arcade Gannon is working as a doctor in the Old Mormon fort. Do not wear Caesar's Legion armor while trying to convince him to join. If you are accepted by the Legion, wear NCR armor to disguise yourself. There are several checks you can possibly use to recruit him.
- Speaking to him with the Confirmed Bachelor perk as a male Courier will convince him to join.
- Gannon will feel bad for the Courier if they have three or lower intelligence and join your party. You can get addicted to certain chems or wear certain clothing items to lower your intelligence under this threshold.
- Passing a 75 Speech check will make him join without much trouble.
Alternative: Befriend The Followers Of The Apocalypse
If you do not meet any of the above requirements, you have one other option. Raise your reputation with the Followers of the Apocalypse and become Accepted by them. You can donate medical items such as Med-X, Radaway, and Fixer. Do this ten times to be Accepted by the Followers.
You can also convince Julie to receive alcohol and other supplies from the Atomic Wrangler. The High Times quest can be done after getting Julie to accept the deal, and it also helps your standing with the Followers. Helping the two NPCs with their addictions will complete this quest. Ask Gannon if he needs any help, and he will accept your request to be a companion.
