Fallout 76 has received an influx of players following the release of the highly popular Fallout TV show. The game went from nearly abandoned to having more concurrent players than ever before. With players visiting the Appalachian Wasteland for the first time, they may not realize how many updates have been added since release.
The Wastelanders update was a major overhaul that added many NPCs to the world. This includes recruitable allies that the player can have in their CAMP. Commander Sofia Daguerre is one of the main allies who has her own questline and can be romanced regardless of your character's gender. Here is where you can find her in the wasteland.

Bethesda reveals that the Fallout 4 next-gen update works a bit differently on the Xbox Series X than its official patch notes suggest.
Travel to the Savage Divide
You must be at least Level 20 to find Sofia and recruit her. Head north from the Whitespring Refuge and the New Appalachian Central Trainyard along the railroad tracks to reach the Savage Divide region. This area is a valley that separates the east and western sides of the map. Traveling into this area will cause a radio signal telling you that a craft has crashed and someone needs help.
Ally: Crash Landing
The signal will point you far to the northeast into The Mire region. This area has poisonous air, so bring a gas mask. When you get close the quest marker should point towards the Abandoned Bunker at the base of a cliff.
Daguerre is hurt from the crash lashing and needs a Stimpack. Offer her one to progress the quest.
Help the Commander
She needs you to find the flight recorder from the downed spacecraft. Head south from the bunker to find it. Activating the recorder will start a two-minute countdown. Waves of super-mutant enemies will appear, including suiciders. You can hide and wait them out as they are not necessary to defeat.
Bring the recorder back to the Commander for another task. You must head south again to get an encryption key from Pandora. Pandora is an assaultron that will be moving on the map. Track it down and kill it to receive the key. Return to Sofia one more time and offer her a stay at your CAMP.
Recruit the Commander at CAMP
Every ally has a Workshop object you must craft to hire them. Open your building menu and switch to the Allies tab. Build the U.S.S.A. Console and Sofia will appear. Only one ally can be active in your CAMP so you may have to scrap any other ally workshop objects. Continue her questline to learn more about her mission in space and potentially romance her.
