Fallout 76 continues its resurgence after the Fallout TV show and the Skyline Valley update. The Milepost Zero Update is coming soon and will add even more features to the game. The Appalachian Wasteland is filled with interesting locations and stories for you to find.
The West Tek Research Center holds many secrets about the surrounding area and factions. It's one of the main strongholds for super mutants in the wasteland, so be prepared for a fight. The research center is also useful as a place to farm and strengthen your character. Leave the building after killing all the enemies. Enter again and all the enemies will respawn for you to kill. You can do this again and again. It's quite a trek to find the West Tek Research Center. This guide will show you where it is on the map and how to get to it.
West Tek Research Center Location
The West Tek Research Center is located in the Savage Divide region of Fallout 76. The Savage Divide is a large valley in the southwestern part of the map. You will have to head south, then cut around the mountain range back north. Follow the train tracks north to traverse the Savage Divide Valley. Enemies here will be a little bit tougher than in the starting area if this is your first time visiting.
The Research Center sits directly to the north of the town of Huntersville. These two locations are actually connected by a story thread thanks to the Steel Reign update. Discover the research center to receive the Learn the secrets of West Tek quest and learn more.
How to Get to West Tek Research Center
The map in Fallout 76 can be tough to traverse. There are many mountains and areas that may block your progress. You have to follow roads and paths to bypass these obstacles. The best starting point is the Whitespring Resort. You should locate this area if you haven't already, as it's necessary for going to the Pitt and Atlantic City. Head to the Whitespring Train Station directly to the northwest of the resort.
Follow the 104 road as it goes up and cuts through the mountains.
The Middle Mountain Pitstop is at the midpoint of this route. Use it to restock on supplies and get some rest. Continue following the road to find the Emmet Mountain Disposal Site. This area will be populated with friendly scavengers. Head south then back north at the fork in the road to arrive at the 107 road. Near the end of the road is Ripper Alley. There will be a group of hostile raiders here. Continue north after defeating them to find the West Tek Research Center.
